Andy, if you are feeling lost with DCC, I woudl suggest before buying any system. do a lot of reading: http://www.tonystrains.com/tonystips/dccprimer/index.htm http://www.loystoys.com/MiscHTML/dcc-topics.html There is a lot to read, but take it a little at a time. Prodigy advanced kinda like the manual online: http://www.modelrec.com/products/trainSound/prodigyinfo/InformationonProdigyAdvanced.asp NCE PowerCab Manual online: http://www.ncedcc.com/ncetest/power_cab_manual.pdf
This kind of confirms my view that having bought a command 2000 like 6 or 7 years ago, tested it once, then had to move into a one bedroom apartment because I'm no better picking mates than DCC systems. The system and all my HO stuff has been in boxes since then. Now, having finally picked a mate that approves of me, I'm thinking the Command 2000 isn't going to be good for much when I unpack it.
Kosmo, Read most of those, Thanks, still leaning towards the PRODIGY. I would really like the Digitrax but it is way to complicated. Maybe someday. JonP, I got mine when they first came out and never did have it working!
Some local hoby Shops have "in house seminars" on various segments of our hoby, includeing DCC. Perhaps this would be advantageous to you if one is available in your geographical area. Jim
I suggest that you read the info about DCC on Tony's Trains website. It's an easy read and isn't difficult to understand. Tony's DCC Primer: http://http://tonystrains.com/tonystips/dccprimer/index.htm Stay cool and run steam.....
