Greetings all. Just installed a Digitrax replacement decoder into an Atlas GP40.. decoder was a DN163A0 It seemed like the easiest install I had done till I tried to run the loco. The lights change according to direction correctly, and the loco runs beautifully, BUT... although the lights change direction correctly the loco runs in the same direction no matter what direction the controller is set to... Is this something obvious I have got wrong? Regards
Please be absolutly sure that the decoder is making a perfect contact with the engine. Recheck your programming. You can set it to go only in one direction. Good Luck Carl
Thanks guys okay, I tested everything with a meter and found all contacts to be in place, and checked that there were no shorts or possible slip ups, and same issue.. however.. this afternoon, I had a beer and then decided what the heck.. so I stripped the chassis down completely and reassembled completely and now it works fine. Very odd, but am glad it is now working. BTW.. its a wonderful loco and runs an absolute dream. Now to go in and set all the CV's.. currently its still working on 03 as delivered Regards and thanks again..
