I am looking for comments from any one who owns one of thease systems, I currently have a command 2000. Can you use an aftermarket transformer, or are you stuck with the one MRC sells? How well does the system work, can you remote locate the hand controllers, if so will cat 5E data wire work?
    Thanks

I'd like to know more about this system also. I've downloaded their user's manual, but there are still questions. I assume you have to address your engines according to their addresses which are 2 digit. I'd prefer to address my locos to their road numbers which are 4 didgits. The price is right. But, does the system do everything MRC claims it will do?
Anybody have any info on this system?

You should be able to use any transformer or power source in the correct voltage range. There should be a technical note on the unit case where the feeds are to be connecting warning you what voltage is acceptable range, i.e DO NOT CONNECT TO ABOVE XYZ VOLTAGE etc....

If not, your best bet is anything in the 10-14v range. A typical MRC pack will produce this, as will most other transformer type power sources.
