Working on grocery shelves for the Safeway project: Here I drew up a Raster Etch drawing of goods on the isle shelves. The laser will eat away more material the darker it is in Raster mode. After rastering the black the laser will vector cut the red line. Here is the Raster drawings for some stand alone fruit bins for my Produce department. This is what the laser etched parts look like, with the isle parts being 3 pieces sandwiched together for a 3D effect. These are produced way faster than 3D printing, these are ready to glue in 12 minutes: After priming you can start to imagine the products available: I used Acrylic Paint Pens instead of brush painting, because it's much quicker. It still takes about 15 minutes to paint one though, but I think once installed in the store, the effect will look like a fully stocked grocery store. I was going for a canned fruits and vegetables isle, a sweets and candies isle, and a personal hygiene products isle. I still have to make another baked goods and cereals isle, because I lost the one I had started working on... it turned into a vapor, while flying out of my tweezers :
Hey Robert, This is amazing! One thought, I vaguely remember our Safeway had the 10c mechanical “space ship” and “horse” ride outside the entrance/exit (always trying to get the last bit of change from their customers) - have you given any thought to adding those? Great work!
Very convincing shelf’s with products on them! They look great along with the fruit in the boxes! Looks so much better than what I was able to get off of Thingiverse.
I couldn’t find a horsey ride STL file, however I did find both a rocket ride and car ride in STL files. Will be printing tomorrow a couple of sizes that should be close in Z scale!
JEEZ, I missed all the action on this SAFEWAY build….. Been out of pocket on other projects. WOW - stunning Rob.
Robert did a fantastic job on the Safeway Grocery Store! Now to Mount and wire the store. I have two choices. First is to face Safeway towards Dutch Bros., or the Safeway facing towards the yard or operator. The two photos is what you would see if store facing Dutch Bros. Last photo is facing the yard and operator!
That looks great! Your layout has the most unique structures and you’ve put them together very well! Share pictures anytime!
