I got most of the mountain covered. Added trees too. The other side of the mountain is covered but not trees yet. So far it looks better than it did. Flash worked on all there. There has to be a setting to turn off the flash. I caught it a couple of times to keep it from flashing. Not the best thing but it worked. Shots below

I need to find out which company made the good poly and leave the woodland scenics stuff off. I don't like it as its to thick no matter how much i try and thin it out. Its also to light in color. Anyway its somewhat better than it was. Shots below

Thanks fellow. I forgot i had that camera. the old battery was shot and it was on a back burner till we sold the trailer. Then i found the camera in the travel bag. It has a new battery coming. I also had a special battery pack that fits the same space as the regular battery. it holds 3 small battery's and i have been using that. its for emergency's they say. Anyway it works.

Hey Smoke, put the D70 in (A)peture mode on the dial on the left. It will not pop up the flash unless you force it to. Then set your f/stop to f/8 on the lens. This will give you much more depth of field. Warning, this will require a tripod or some steady surface as your shutter speed picked by the camera will guarantee to be slow.

I did these like you said but without the tripod. I rested the cameras on the layout to keep it study. I actually got some of the trees and bushes done. Barnyard is waiting for animals. Trees are done there. I got the short mountain done. Its trees are all planted and its only the eagle rock that needs to be finished. Shots of the fun below.

Gotta love it when a plan comes together. Those latest shots have a nice, almost Kodachrome-esque tone. Back when I had a layout to shoot I would occasionally take multi-second exposures with a long focal-length lens at f/32; a tripod is an absolute necessity for that, but the photos were sharp from foreground to background, which really helped sell the illusion of size!

I loved Kodachrome!! those were some fun times. Dark rooms and all the stuff to turn paper film to paper pictures. I miss my old darkroom and the setup. I had a old Konica auto-reflex t3 that i wore out! I took hundreds of pictures that kept me busy between my job and darkroom. The weekends back to taking pictures. I have forgot how to do it anymore.Haven't been in that darkroom since 1985. I bought a tripod and it should be here in a couple of days. Another battery pack too! Slowly getting back into it. ya know.. this is turning out to be another hobby!!

Been there, done that. And doing it as well. I still have the tripod and simple 35mm. Just no film.

I can and have it developed by my landlord in our basement. It's getting into an image on the computer that is difficult.

I found two programs on the Nikon site for doing about anything you want to digital cameras. I have been checking them out with some of the earler photos with this camera. Its a hit/miss kind of action with those photos. Again, a learning system.
