Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a good weekend and a time of remembrance on Sunday, September 11th. It seams hard to believe that was 21 years ago. Let's get into what was accomplished over the weekend.

Saturday: Was as expected, lots of driving.

Sunday: Driving was finished up by 8:00am then getting the dogs settled and sleep. No real modeling as Ang and I got domestic duties done.

So how about you? What did you end up getting done? Let us know. We'll gather again on Friday the 16th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Good morning all. Good weekend that went pretty much as planned. Saturday all day was all tailgating and football which turned out great!

Sunday, I changed modeling plans. I spent most of the day building up some new Bar Mills billboards that have been in my cabinet for a long time. Then I spent the rest of the day putting in the DCC Specialties PSX4 breaker system. Tested it out, I have one wiring snafu that needs fixing and its good to go. I like the PSX4. It is infinitely a simpler installation than the Digitrax PM42 I had there and without all of the soldering. Glad I finally did this.

    Have a great week all!

This weekend was semi productive. It did involve a lot of running errands. Saturday we headed to Delaware. I got gas, stopped at the hobby shop, and Target. My wife and I stopped for dinner at one of our favorite places. Sunday was a pharmacy and grocery store run. We did some gardening and some cleaning around the house.

The stop at the LHS was for some Evergreen plastic tubes I need to repair some screw holes that no longer hold the screws due to being stripped or too big. I entered more cars into my inventory program and reorganized my tank cars.

Well as it felt like I had a low grade flu over the weekend, I did not get as much done as I would have liked.

Friday's bowling was not all that good but as a team we managed to bowl good enough to win 5 out of 7 points, aI got some decaling done in the afternoon.

Saturday, spent most of the day on a trip to Toledo to visit my wife's sisters. But after we got home did some more decaling along with some more work on the feed mill for the club layout. Also made some phone calls with the club members to consolidate orders for the new Tangent G41 Coil Car.

Sunday, Finished decaling the cars I started earlier and installed some detail parts on some of the cars along with doing the laundry and my wife making go and join a community choir.

    Good morning all,

We had unusually humid weather here thanks to the tropical storm in the southern part of the state. On Saturday morning I finished putting things away from the camping trip last week and that wore me out in that type of weather. After that I stayed in the train room with the AC on.

I finished the ballasting on the west end of Carlin yard and painted the spur track that I put in last weekend for the scrap yard.

On Sunday I started to put together some of the parts for the propane dealer to get an idea of how things would lay out then I installed the spur track for this railroad customer. The pre-formed plastic piping that comes with the kit won't work with the layout I need so will plan on using some brass rod that can be customized. Another thing on my list for the next LHS visit.

Also made up my own uncoupling too from styrene. Posted on my blog the details of this: https://palisadecanyonrr.blogspot.com/2022/09/home-made-uncoupling-tool.html

Looks like a mixed bag here. All good. Pics look sharp. I visited the local MRR club for a bit. ;) Also needed to pick up dark brown cardstock for the small houses project. Most of the measurements for parts are done. Chores may hinder, but I plan to persist. (y) Have a fun and safe week. :D

Great weekend. I was able to work on the modules and get the frames built. Almost finished. One more weekend should do it. I also built a frame for a new member of the Utah Free-moN group.

Sunday I sat down at the computer and worked on the plans for the new layout. I think they are just about done. I have a couple industries to show horn in but otherwise it looks good. Hopefully it’s not too much track. First pic is the lower deck staging yard. Second pic is the middle deck with the main yard in it. Third deck is more agricultural with the mine. Also the third deck contains an HOn3 narrow gauge line.

    Hey All,

An unexpected email from Tom Barbalet had me helping out with editing podcast audio for Model Rail Radio. I did work on a few small projects, including the underframe mod for an AT&SF Athearn/Roundhouse truss-rod boxcar. I have made other mods to this type of car, including the replacement of grab irons and other exterior details. Not sure if this is a big impact, but certainly a case of "hey, I know it's there" (WNW car for comparison, AT&SF car was modified to have K-Brake details).

"Witchita Northwestern", that's a cool name for a railroad, never heard of it!

The below looks like "Frisco" style form, so they might have been part of that company's family. Note the faintly stamped company name at top:

Well, then here is the next item on your reading list: Wheat Belt Route : Wichita Northwestern : The Story of a Dust Bowl Railroad

    https://www.amazon.com/Wheat-Belt-Route-Northwestern-Railroad/dp/0942035453

    LoL! Enjoy.

Edit: K4 Decals makes a set with the "Wheat Belt Route" herald.

I think the WNW featured some of these Mather boxcars, eventually painting them yellow with black lettering....This Proto 2000 is a nice model of such (again K4 decals). WNW-sm.JPG

The interplay of scenery and boxcar is great.
