Does the C&G still have a spur into MSU? Bully's image on C&G 8715 pays homage to the school that absorbed substantial funds educating my son. As an aside, a long retired MSU graduate, a close friend, told me that during his 1920/30-ish years at MSU he used the C&G station on the MSU campus. I believe my son showed me a white wooden building, though totally repurposed.
While I have not done any railfanning in the Starkville area, I do know the line is still active through there. Funny thing was seeing "Bully" where I did because that section of the C&G is completely separated from the section where Columbus and Starkville are.

From April 1980 at Des Plaines, IL, torpedo-tubed GP-9 554 handles a local. I've seen photos of these hauling Soo passenger trains, so I'm assuming it once had a steam generator. I cannot recall why I didn't walk over to get a better picture.

So are these simply being stored, no specific purpose ahead? Were to be part of tourist/diner train operation, which failed? Or....?

Was the track in between removed, or is it being held as "out-of-service"? Hopefully the latter, and maybe some day.....?
