Greetings everyone to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you had a good week and are looking forward in relaxing a bit this weekend with some model railroad projects. Let's get started.

Saturday: The father-in-law informed us last week of a tractor show nearby and the brand to be featured this year is Ford, so we have to go. After that, the wife wants to get some items at the local members only box store and then we will come home to maybe finally install the hard saddle bags on my Harley that have been sitting in the garage since April. I'm also hoping to see if the father-in-law would be interested in heading over to the lumbar store and help me haul some plywood and pink foam for a future project as he has an F-150. We shall see.

Sunday: I hope to catch up on some railroad projects, mainly get things organized from Galesburg and maybe start construction of my studio for live feeds. The studio will be a corner of my office and will feature small HO corner switching layout that will be able to be switched out for an N scale one. I shoot most of the video and photography for Athearn's social media and I need a convenient way to do this year-round rather than lugging modules outside. The layout will also provide a nice back drop to the Train Tuesdays and other Live sessions I do. This will be a long-term project that is still in the design phase, so we'll see how far I get this weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble once again on Monday the 11th and see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Happy Friday all. This weekend I have 2 things I want to do:

    1. Work on the "Cabins" as the C&O called them. The brick cabin is in Albemarle City and will known as "AC" cabin. The wooden B.T.S. kit tower will be known as "SL" cabin for "State Line" (Va to WV). The brick cabin is modeled similar to the prototype brick cabins the C&O had in places like Gordonsville, VA, Doswell, and elsewhere. The wooden cabin is a direct model from the "MD" Cabin in Meadow Creek, WV (near Hinton, WV). The brick cabin needs its stairs, downspouts, and is in sore need of a proper "chimney cap". The metal railings on the stairs may be time consuming. The wood cabin will probably just have parts separated and "pre-painted" this weekend with very little assembly.
    2. If time is available and I need a break from the tower-cabin projects, I may go up into the train room and put down some more puff ball trees.

    Have a great one!

Good morning and happy Friday to Y'all,

I am hoping to finish up my Cotton PA project. Have some decal touch up to do. As well as adding some details. Then a clear coat.
I do have some Honey-Do's to accomplish as well. Happy Wife - Happy life -- Hahaha

    Y'all have a great weekend,
    Wolf

I think I’m going to take a couple of Kato Metra locomotives and renumber them. After that, I’m not sure. I’ll either work on some 2-bay hoppers for fracking sand or on repainting some Metra Pullman coaches to the “bicycle cars” and the new paint job with the big orange stripes and black roof.

I started a kitbash last weekend turning a GP40 into METX 11, a GP23 last week, save a couple of details that are on the way. I’ll finish that up eventually and post photos.

    Good morning all,

I have been adding shrubs and touching up scenery. Over the weekend I plan to work some more on the river and maybe get this section installed into the layout, we'll see how it goes.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

Well, looking like ~105-degrees (F) here in S. Texas over the weekend. Probably a good idea to stay indoors.

Planning to work on painting and decaling a few cars. I did make some progress last weekend on these Bitter Creek (34-ft, 36-ft boxcar) Models and a wooden gondola from Westerfield. I need to build about 6-8 of the wooden gondola kits (resin kits), so maybe try to get a few more ordered. I also found an Accurail 36-ft mod that was near complete (now primed) will get a FRISCO billboard herald. Hopefully some progress...

More cool stuff. Sharp "cabins" too. (y) Short week here with high, high heat and humidity. Some chores done. some not. My procrastination did spawn a "brainstorm" regarding how to proceed. Since fishing is cancelled until next week, maybe something will get done. ;) Have a fun and safe weekend. :D

I decided to make a slight change to the T-Trak module I stated was complete, earlier this week. The tangent spur track coming off that curve just did not sit well, so I ordered a few more pieces of Unitrack. Hoping they will be here tomorrow, but probably my luck will be not until Monday evening. Rats. Meanwhile I will continue track work on another module, and maybe sit down at the work bench, for a bit of HOn30 car kit work. Will know what happened, come Monday! Ha ha.

    Good afternoon!

Just got back from seeing my heart surgeon and then a celebratory lunch out. I have been cleared to drive and my incision looks good along with the healing to the sternum. I am cleared to lift 20 lbs and I asked and I can bowl as long as I only take one ball in my bag.

Saturday I am going to the club for the first time since May and then work on some car kits and going thru stuff to see what I can sell that is excess cars and locos.

Sunday will be some kit building, painting and decalling.

    See you all later.

It is nice to be back at the keyboard after several weeks away. Traveled to the Nashville N Scale Convention. Had a great time. Sharon came away excited about the T-Trak layout. Looks like those single modules I bought a few months ago may see some activity in the near future. As we drove toward New York on Sunday I was feeling sleepy. Turned the driving chores over to Sharon and had a nap. That evening I still felt tired and decided something wasn't right. A positive Covid test confirmed that opinion. Instead of helping my daughter and her fiancé with the house they bought, Sharon and I spent two weeks in isolation. Oh well! I wasn't the only one who came away from the convention with more than a souvenir car. I certainly hope everyone is recovering fully.

Feeling better and back at home now. I have a list of modeling activities to tackle:

    1. Turn the Road to Nashville thread into an article for the N Scale Enthusiast magazine.
    2. Unpack the stuff I brought back and find places to store it. I was very restrained, fortunately.
    3. Review the T-Trak specifications, buy/order any needed materials, lay some track if I have everything I need.
    4. Discuss module scenery options with Sharon.
    5. If I make it to #5 by Sunday then I will pick up my older, ongoing projects again.

We will see what I get done.

    Stay safe,

This past week two of my favorite fresh-water fishing rods were run over by a semi. Luckily none were high end, but both are no longer made. One was a 1964 Shakespeare Wonder Rod in really good condition.

One replacement is due today another is due tomorrow. Unfortunately rain possibly heavy is called for tomorrow.

Anticipating rain tomorrow I spent today doing yardwork.

Saturday we have a Sweet 15 party to attend. Luckily it is just across the street. If it is moved indoors because of weather we won't go.
Other than the party, Saturday will mostly be spent working on the layout.

Sunday will depend on how much rain falls on Saturday. Hopefully a combination of hiking, fishing, yardwork and layout work.

I was going to post at lunch time today but the day went into the toilet fast. Coming back to the trailer from picking up lunch another driver ran a stop sign and plowed into my car. Driver side front door took the brunt of the hit. Door still works but sticks. Spent the afternoon on the phone with insurance companies. My neck and shoulder are now sore. Looks like a call to the orthopedic doctor is on the agenda now.

As it stands I have no idea what the weekend holds. I guess it depends on how much pain I am in. We did plan to do some house cleaning.

On the modeling front I have a bunch of cars to tune up so maybe I can do them.

Since my weekend starts on Friday I got a few things done already, but I'll report that on Monday. Tomorrow is scheduled to try out a pick your own blueberry place near here. I'm also hoping to continue work on one of our milk cans. It's been on the front porch and was in great need of being stripped, primed, and repainted. I got the first layer of last week but need to go at it again before I wipe it down and start priming it.

I'd also like to tinker with my gondola camera sled to see if I can stabilize it. If not, it will be demoted to ordinary gondola and added to my fleet.

Sunday will be church and our monthly club business meeting at the Sebring Ohio Model Railroad Club. I've already prepared my treasurer's report and a couple other things that, as I said, I'll report on Monday.

Was suppose to get my Osborn models, C-172, Piper Cub, and Picnic tables today in the mail, but they didn't show up. Hopefully Saturday will arrive in the mail. If so will take a lot at them to see how to proceed. If not, well, hopefully Monday. We will see!

I've been working on my N scale Walthers Cornerstone suburban station off and on all week (very little work each day). I hope I can finish it tomorrow (Saturday). I have no trouble buying all these kits... it's putting them together that's a problem.:(

Wow, love your tower work! There sure are some nice kits out these days. My N Scale road will have a tower or two to be sure. Shot this picture of MD on 04/10/1988. As you know, a lot of C&O cabins stood back then.

Here's A Cabin at Alleghany, VA taken 04/12/2006. I thought its concrete chimney cap might be of interest to you.
