What EMD E-unit would you favor?

In spite of me saying my favorite E units are the E8/9 above, I don't believe I have ever seen a more beautiful diesel than the incredibly restored B&O EA #51.

Sometimes. Often, even. But an obs can be, say, a tavern lounge or buffet lounge instead, and a parlor can be mid train (like the upper level of the Santa Fe Pleasure Domes).

Anyone have a working link to Kato's "suggest a model" page? All I can get is a Page not found, error 404.

I bumped a pretty ancient thread. They may have gotten tired of suggestions since then.

We're only talking about the Twin Cities Zephyr here.

I would love to see more EMD pre-war diesels like the E1 to E4. However, Kato needs to make the missing E5B units for their E5A's.

Kato has 'floated' many potential small sets including several TA equipped Rock Island Rockets. These were supposed to be in small Kato cases instead of the typical packaging used for prior passenger consists. They could do those small zephyr sets the same way.
As I have mentioned before, Kato has not been inclined to make any newly tooled items lately. The exception may be the Big Boy announced a while back. Mums been the word from Kato for anything 'totally new'.

That big boy is likely requiring most of their R&D attention/budget right now. With respect to tooling, as Charlie mentioned, the Twin Cities Zephyr would really just be tooling two new cars and an E5B shell. IIRC, the corrugated set dome and one of the diners (CZ?) are close if not exact matches. That covers five of the seven needed cars.
