Today's Canton Repository shares the possibility that streetcars could be carrying passengers between downtown and the airport with stops at the Football Hall of Fame Village in between by 2026. Former W&LE trackage currently exists under the ownership of Akron's metropolitan transit service we (Metro). It would have been nice for the article to include a map of the proposed route, and maybe a few 'artists concept' drawings. I wish them luck.
Hopefully if this line is built, it will actually go INTO the airport. Lots of time they don't and end up being money not so well spent.
for as many times as the "3C" passenger rail has been proposed between Cincy, Columbus, and Cleveland and subsequently passed over (and as much sense as it would make to actually build!!), hopefully this project gets greenlighted. Totally dig the design, too. Looks great imo.
