Some more outstanding modeling from your hands! Great looking transformer! That's a piece of equipment that's close to what I do at work. I must have built about 80 test sets for those puppies. Again, nice handiwork.
Depending on the transformer, there's a thingamajig on it called a tap changer, which uses a moving tap to slightly change the transformer ratio depending on the load downstream of the transformer (which is why house current doesn't swing up and down madly all the time). The sets I built at work measure the current draw when the motor moves the tap and measure vibration at the same time using accelerometers mounted on the outside. If there are some noises that aren't supposed to be there, they'll show up on the recording. Kinda like a stethoscope - you don't need open-heart surgery to find out if the patient's heart is healthy or not.
Placing ties in my yard. As I build my layout, I've been opening boxes of old N Scale items I haven't seen for years and the rediscovery has been great fun.
That big industrial flat adds a whole new dimension and an entirely different feel to that scene. Very nice.
Interesting observation! I recently went through the footlocker of my remaining N scale. I was quite surprised by what was still there.
