Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a great week. It looks like we had a productive weekend last weekend, and it sure seems nice that a lot of us got to go to some train shows again. Let's see what we have planned for this weekend. Friday: Technically my weekend started yesterday afternoon. I spent the entire day working on my track plan for the shadow box. Today since the high will only be 36 and rain/snow mix, I plan to do more of the same. Saturday: The weather will not improve much, only a high of 50 but I plan to bundle up and pick up the Harley from the dealer as it is finished having its annual spring maintenance. I also plan to work on the NTrak module and hope to finish all the wood construction so I can start working on the track. Sunday: Rumor has it that it may finally be nice out. 60 degrees and sunny. If so, a ride on the bike maybe in order and hopefully paint and stain on the NTrak module can be applied. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 11th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
Happy Friday to Y'all Let's see -- Saturday: I am attending my friends opp session on his wonderful NYO&W layout - it is always a great time Sunday: I hope to install the train order boards I kit bashed last weekend - photos to follow I have figured out what else I will get into - we'll see Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
This weekend, will be another bowling weekend, tonight is our last night but no bowling, just going to pickup our prize money and then go home. Saturday and Sunday I will be working the Cleveland Open City Tournament which are all day events with singles/doubles in the morning and team event in the afternoon. I will be doing the jackpots and brackets that bowlers enter in addition to the tournament placement. I may get some decaling done in the evenings but that is determined by what else I have to do like laundry etc. Rick Jesionowski
First crawfish boil of the season is set for Saturday, so that will take the day. Sunday I'll be in culinary recovery mode. Beyond that . . .
I have 3 Atlas GP9 torpedo tube locos that I painted engine black. I hope to decal them tomorrow for the Southern Rwy. I can't find any info on whether Southern had GP9 TTs, but I know they had GP7 TTs. Just a minor point to me
Moose's plans: Friday: Print paper mock-ups of the yard warehouse and a brewery and make changes to their designs if/as necessary. Then order brick sheet materials, windows and doors for them, oh my! Saturday: Do what ever Mrs Moose tells Moose to do... Sunday: Have a cuppa and go from there...
This will be a play it by ear weekend. Hoping for some layout time, guess we shall see how it goes. Hope you all have a great weekend!
We hit 87 yesterday, supposed to be warm again today. Wife has taken a nice tri-tip out of the freezer for me to try out on the new smoker grill our nephew sent us for Christmas. Will be listening to the Giants opening day game while I doing that. Work has been continuing on the layout all week and over this weekend I hope to install at least two of the three bridges and maybe even start laying some track. I will also be continuing work on our vegetable garden. Hope everyone has a great weekend whatever you end up doing.
Size, er, I mean, sigh, sigh. Today most likely I'll have time to work on design for my super tower And updated 50s bungalow And maybe this weekend I will get some figures painted as my number two stepdaughter is still here. We shall see
Lots of projects to do. Saturday not sure what will happen Sunday I hope to get some rolling stock kits built Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Friday greetings all. Weekend plans: Reset from last weekend's "do nothing in the train room". Which means, actively working on the HM Meyers building and better advancing some of these engine railings with which I am not thrilled. I found a can Dupli-Color Adhesion coating (see below thumbnail) and intend on working with that stuff for the derlin railings. Also I read in a couple of places that derlin would be cleaned/etched with lacquer thinner. I have some old railings I will experiment with maybe today. Sort of counterintuitive to soak plastic in dang lacquer thinner or acetone, but hey, I'll check it out w/ some scrap and see what happens. Also intend on watching NC State's spring football game tomorrow. I get to wait until 7:00PM for a delayed broadcast, so that won't detract from modeling time which is perfect Everyone enjoy the weekend!
Last weekend I failed to dismantle my two remaining original T-Trak modules. One is now gone, the other partially so. I intend to finish that project. I have a couple more small decals to finish an HOn30 critter. Then hoping to work on a couple of freight cars I have been procrastinating on finishing. And thereafter....
I hope snow/sleet discontinues. Seems like some is "bleeding" down here. Actually, just cold wind. Good luck on the new adhesion stuff. Saturday is the 35th Annual Coosa Valley Train Show in Gadsden (AL). As you might guess, two years were skipped. I plan to go. Also, arts and crafts show at Noccalula Falls Park. Hopefully a fun day. Right now, the beam cover sheets are at thirty percent completion. I hope all have a fun and safe weekend.
He has a wonderful layout - fills most of a two car garage. Photos-? Not sure - I may have...LOL Wolf
Returned from a couple weekends away. Always takes me a few days to regain momentum. I came back chomping at the bit to make some driver overlays on the laser. However, another "teachable moment" has come on gone as I discovered that overtightening the rollers causes flat spots. Turns out they are self-healing so no permanent damage done. Which brings me to: Friday: Been working on cleaning up the workspace. Dragged home a few old battery chargers to dismantle for components and recycle the remainder. Will be making some new test files to confirm the laser can still cut a straight line or a round circle. Saturday: Listen in to Lowell Smith's Train Talk to hear about coming attractions. Make any final adjustments to the laser and cut some stuff. Sunday: Soccer match to watch with the family. Then off to celebrate our victory or drown our sorrow in chorizo gravy over biscuits. Finish up the "undone' from Friday and Saturday. Stay safe,
I’m thinking this will be a weekend to work on some rolling stock. I’ve got a few half finished projects that I should get to. But I also have some hoppers that have been in the “hopper” that just need weathering for a while. So we will see! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bought some new Just Plug items to play with. Some new LED's ( broke one ), and some extension cables for them, four in total each, extension cables and Cool White LED's. Hopefully some more wiring as in dropping some DCC wired rail joiners to my tiny yardand connect to terminal board, clean up some cables, or cable management I guess it is called? Basically have fun it my goal Also bought some more Atlas Rerailers, they don't look prototypical, but make my life easier running trains and enjoying the hobby I also use them to help me put rolling stock and locomotives on the layout, along with the BIG white rerailer ramp thingy, me old!
