    I like the Unitram with the exception of the turnouts. The inner turnout is the worst problem. They are too sharp for most power. I had the best results with Kato NW-2s and, of all things, E-R Sharks. Atlas Baldwins and LL SWs did not do well on the turnouts. I did not try an Atlas or Arnold S-2. For steam, I had the best luck with MDC 2--6-0/2-8-0. The only electric that I tried was the B-mann street car. It derailed on both turnouts. Much of the problem is from stalling because the equipment climbs the sharp turnouts.

    I have cut a few straight and curved sections down the middle to make single tracking, which is typical of street trackage. I opened up one of the Kato turnout pieces to see it I could cut it and use only the outer turnout. I looked over everything and decided that I lacked the courage to hack at it. The best compromise has been modelling the inner turnout as "abandoned" trackage.

    Umm... Let's keep in mind what Unitram track was designed for.
