Why does there seem to be a direct correlation between exceptionally high prices and not putting them on the track properly ?
I'll sell you TWO packages for $15. And they'll have 24 poles in them, not 12. Sheesh, this is even more than my local dealer charges, and they are no bargain.

All- I don't know how many of these 1970's - 1990's? BACHMANN 2-8-0, 2-8-2 Locomotives I have seen come into my Hobby Shop Dealer at the time 1987 - 2000 ? for repair or a motor replacement My Dealer asked me about them . Of course this was when BACHMANN Introduced their SPECTRUM SERIES 2-8-0 . I told my dealer the customers best bet is to invest in a KATO or the Spectrum Series 2-8-0 . Tom

Yikes. I was worried for a few minutes. Then I looked more closely. According to the details it is a bulk pack (#612042) of 24 pieces. Which if true makes the price decent.
It certainly seems to be spreading. At this point, perhaps all diesels, steam engines and cabooses should be quarantined?
I know this discussion is all over this board but I haven't gone to the eBay in many years. But, now when I go to TitanTV.com to see what's on TV, half there ads are for the items being discussed on this board. And these past two days there's a lot of ads on the main MS board for the Track Cleaning Cars being discussed here. I didn't realize this board was so commonly known.
TrainBoard began before 2000 and after testing, went public that year. It has been around a long, long time and we believe it is at very least the oldest of this style board. Plenty of chances that we would be noticed....
