Well, I did it. I rolled the dice and bought one. So far............. really happy with it! I haven't had a chance to really test it at great length, but out of the box it seems to run great, no stalling, no hesitation whatsoever. Certainly the best BLI locomotive I have purchased. Hmmmm, now I want another!
One note..........As near as I can tell, the keep alive on the BLIs DOES NOT work when running on DC, only on DCC.
I am running DCC, so this should not be a problem for me. Really happy to have made the purchase. It runs so much better than the NW-2s and SW-7s that I have from BLI. I am actually almost fearful of the thing - I am limiting handling, and being VERY careful when I do handle it. I am a lot more casual when I handle something like an Atlas 4 axle diesel. This seems like it has the potential to have much more break, and combined with the price tag, it is getting 1st class treatment from me.
