    This was a shock for me. I had lots of talks with Jim, he was an all-round great guy. Amazing layout, neat trains running, loved the big earthworm trains.
    A true N Scale legend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in Peace Jim, and thank you for all your help!

    That is so sad. Prayers for the family. I had a few dealings with Jim on the N Scale Yard Sale board and he was a top shelf seller.

    Just got back from Jim’s Celebration of Life service. Thank you to all that posted here; I printed out the comments for the family.
    Anyone wishing to remember Jim can make a donation in his name to the Illinois Railway Museum.

    The locomotives and rolling stock are being sold off by Jim's family. I believe the layout is going to be scrapped. I have not heard of any plans for it to be preserved. Charlie Vlk has been in contact with the family and should be able to provide more details.

    I was thinking of attending the NSE convention in Nashville this year and would have liked to have seen Jim's layout after seeing pics of it on line over the years.
