    Agree with Doug.
I have several of these with build dates mid 1960's. These ran for many years thereafter and updated up to 1980's until replaced with more modern propane tank cars. Some may have still been around in 1990s.

A fake. Often used to refer to models done in paint schemes that the prototype never wore, like a Con-cor CSX turbine

Thanks......I was guessing 60's. I'm looking for Propane cars from the 50's and I thought that looked a bit newer. I've seen this car in several paint schemes.......not sure if I would care if it was a fake scheme.......the place it's delivering to is fake too. But I do care that it's era appropriate. I'm trying very hard to keep all my cars and locos "transition era" correct.

I believe that Atlas did their 11,000 gal tank cars with only small propane specific domes. They would have been the predecessor to the 33,000 gal versions

Like when an N scale manufacturer paints a UP gas turbine for Conrail or GN, etc.

'50's huh? Well, you could justify having these by reasoning that the railroads and manufacturers were experimenting with the jumbo cars before putting them in regular production. Easy.
