Hello! My name is Elliott. I have been a railfan since birth, thanks to my father. I have grown up in Southern California spoiled by regular visits to Cajon Pass and Tehachapi. My parents, being from the Salt Lake area, would take the family on annual trips to Utah where I had the chance to enjoy Soldier Summit while it still hosted a plethora of power and tunnel motors galore. I enjoy railroad photography and enjoy being off-road in my Jeep. I am finally getting ready to start my railroad empire in our three car garage. I have HO, O-Scale 3-rail, and N-Scale models. I spent the last year or so with the idea that I would sell off my HO and N-Scale equipment and buy and build a layout in O-Scale. I was enamored by the idea of the seeing, hearing, and smelling my railroad but the cost of nice scale equipment and lack of options can be frustrating. I have decided instead that I need to take advantage of the collection of N-Scale equipment that my father and I have acquired for many years. Not to mention, the possibilities in the space I have to work with are much more appealing in that scale. I look forward to any and all insight from those of you who have first hand experience from years of operating your own layouts and trying to incorporate that valuable information in my plans.
