That grain elevator looks great Blayne! I just posted a question about the decals for that kit in the inspection pit. (shameless post plug)
I had a little time this afternoon (sandwiched between practicing Morse Code and prepping for a Bible meeting this evening), so I decided to start working on another structure that will appear on the same module as the grain elevator: Jace Hardware. I am using Woodland Scenics DPM #10800 (Goodfellows Hall) to represent the hardware store. I trimmed the flash off of the styrene sides and chimney backs, sanded the hidden edges to a 90-degree angle (they're beveled due to the manufacturing process), and gave them all a bath in preparation for construction/painting.

It's been a while since I last posted an update. My "day job" has been in the way of progress, but I've got some time over the next few weeks and hope to make some progress. I've decided to simplify the track plan a bit. If you look back in this thread to an image I posted on May 17, 2020, I had included a removable cassette, making my "L" plan into more of a "C". Since the left leg and the bottom leg (i.e., the cassette) were mostly scenery, I've gotten rid of the cassette (so it doesn't stick out in the room) and have added a three-track yard on the left leg. Here's an image of the new plan. In addition, the siding formerly devoted solely to the coal & gravel industry now has a second industry, the lumber yard. I hope to post some photos of layout progress over the next few days.
This year's winner in the category of "Can't leave well-enough alone" ... I tweaked the yard area a little more, adding another track. So now, I have a small three-track yard, and the track to the left of the yard represents the connection of the Fyan Spur to the mainline.
OK, I may have missed it somewhere in this thread, but how thick is the pink foam board on your layout? Incidentally, as a Frisco modeler myself, I like what you're doing!!
Thanks! I use 2” foam. I couldn’t find it here in Oklahoma, so I got a sheet once while passing through Joplin, MO.
