Stopped by MP26.4x, Sumner, Wa and ate my lunch.... SB with some nice power. Lately, BNSF is putting a Trash 9 on the head-end, where usually one of the older SD's would be, dunno why? This reminded me of the old BN "Expediter" service they used to run in the 80's-single unit with a really short, fast train!
One from last weekend, the fog was lifting as BNSF 5832 lead a westbound coal train past a spot called Bingen Gap, WA, on Google maps.
On that day I saw an entire train of Walmart containers on the UP side and an entire train of the orange JB Hunt containers on the North Bank. I didn't know either thing existed.
I mis-spoke before, it was Schneider containers, not JB Hunt. Trucks, they all look the same.... Here is the train, a little farther on the hike and a few minutes later than the first. It is lead by a SD70MAC, 9725. Coyote Wall is the ridge in the background.
I caught a trainload of brand new Schneider containers back in November. 4 trainloads came off the boat, I only caught this one. An eastbound QPTLCHC3-16A has a solid consist of fresh Schneider containers. I caught a well-timed heads-up and bagged it crossing Gassman Coulee. Photo from private property, with permission.
From the Spartanburg railcam today, an enormous NS military train headed to the Port of Charleston handled by three BNSF units.
She's a little rough around the edges, but still earning her keep! Today at Balmer Yard hump. Still has her C&S markings above the number boards too!
