I just ordered 3 Walthers Cornerstone kits, a 10-pack of Micro-Trains bettendorf trucks/couplers and some assorted Kato Unitrack. I hope that in a few months I might have an operational N scale layout.
Just ordered a bunch or wiring aids and a drill press table. I know, not very exciting, but once construction starts I tend to go until I drop or run out of supplies.
Picked up my first new locomotives in 3 years, a pair of Amtrak GE P42's and a pair of AutoRack sets to go with them.
Mrs Moose ordered Moose a paint booth as a birthday present, and sneaky delivery human dropped it off two days earlier than expected. Moose so excited, had to post before even opening the box it came in... Stock image from manufacturer's website:
Ummm, yeah, Mrs Moose thought Moose might have been slightly obsessive with the design effort and nothing else was getting done...
So would you believe it, I went to a train show all weekend and didn’t spend a dime on trains… and no I also didn’t spend more than a dime on trains. I did buy a building, and traded a train for a train… they are both still packed in the truck and will stay there till tomorrow. I’m exhausted… the transformer name sounding bug may be gone, but it’s still making me tired quickly still. So stay tuned tomorrow for the obligatory pics.
I passed 700 locomotives a few years ago. That is the number that have decoders installed and speed matched. Getting bulk decoders is a problem these days...
Okay, it's a big picture, but I snagged these two cars at a train show in Puyallup yesterday. Both were custom paints. The second one is worth a close read.
N Scale EveModel houses just arrived from Amazon. Wow, I didn't think they were going to be assembled. Now must order at lest one unassembled and not painted, and possibly, the 3 colored ones unassembled, on the slow boat from China. I really, really, like these EveModels. Had never hear of them till just recently, me likes, and assembly a Bonus!
Came across these Athearn 57' reefers with sound which will go nice with my mechanical reefer fleet. Atlas GP30 with sound. I'll have a few mods to get the lighting setup the way I want.
My first airbrush. Not a lot of room in my house in Japan, so I figured I’d experiment with one of the portable handhelds first. Once I learn my way around this, I’ve got a bunch of ethanol tank cars and centerbeams to weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Metra Man, Where in Japan are you? I have been through Tokyo, stayed in Toyota City while doing some work there for about three weeks, and spent some time in Nagoya. Beautiful country and wonderful people. I got to ride a lot of trains, eat some great food, learned how to properly pronounce Kato, and picked up an Kato ED75 locomotive. My daughter works for the same company (I am retired now), and she brought me back some subway cars like the ones I rode there. Never got to ride a bullet train but She has and brought me her ticket stub and sleeve for my collection. Nice looking airbrush, hope it works out great for you. Ralph
i would like to know how that air brush works out for ya. ive been thinking about getting one to get some experience
