I would tend to lean for a series of cars featuring WWII aircraft nose art!

I keep asking for cement hoppers in Groupo Cemento paint and woodland scenics to do cowboys and indians and another motorcycle. LOL

Hmmmmmm , I know this is a sorta old thread but I was surprised nobody added a video of the State cars ........ so I have, here is mine.

These cars run beautifully. I have 2 x A units and 2 x B units but one coupler was playing silly buggers so they are only A-B-A in this video. I'm going to set them up with the supplied draw bars and add a new video soon.

Very cool. (y)(y) I have that set of cars but not the locos. I do agree that they are nice looking cars and run well!

    That's really nice @308GTSi (y)

Although they're not worth much at all, I still very much enjoy my Kadee/M-T Bicentennial cars from the mid-70s. I have them from the states I've lived in (VA, MD, MA, NJ, SC and NC) and am happy to leave it at that, though the caboose sometimes tempts me.

Real nice. I doubt I would get all 50. I've only had residence in Wisconsin but could include Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana and throw in Texas (got married there). The rest were in the Army.

I'd like to see the switch order for @308GTSi 's crew to sort them in alphabetical order. :D

The caboose seems to be the hard to get one ....... closely followed by the locomotives !

Definitely not a bad American. :) I didn't realise the others existed until I accidentally found a few. Of note "Jefferson" very nearly did become a state early in 1941 but Japan bombed Pearl Harbour so a new state was a very low priority. Jefferson was to be the lower part of Oregon and the upper part of California.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_(proposed_Pacific_state)

I've been to Klamath County in Oregon and seen business's with names like "Jefferson State Pumping" so the idea of Jefferson state is still alive and well today.

Ontonagon is sorta similar but I can't find a lot about it. It is a portion of Michigan so that would be breaking the state even further. I'm not sure if its about becoming another state or a whole seperate country.

When I get drawbars for the FT's sorted, (A-B-B-A next time), I will arrange them in alphabetical order. I don't know how long it would take to actually switch them on the track and the train is longer than any siding on our club track so I only run it when nobody else is running. Currently they are in order of when the states joined the Union. :)

Ok, so some of the ones in the Rear are NOT states? Whew, makes me feel better, although I think a few where and I did not know it? Really not sure. Main thing is I know what state I live in incase I get lost :)

The last 2 cars before the caboose are "The Moon" and "Mars" ............. technically not US states or territories buuuuuuuuuuuut you'd probably need to leave for those places via Texas or Florida. Elon Musks ticket prices are cheapest on the market for space trips right now !! LOL

It's the sort of product that helps keep Micro-Trains in business so that they can also produce more prototypically correct products.
The collectors/accumulators will buy (at least) one of everything, while the modelers will debate whether or not the shade of paint is correct, criticize the ride height and demand only body-mount couplers - and then maybe buy a car only if it fits the era and location being recreated on their layout.

I realized that I needed to add the N Scale Collector Ontanagon "Almost A State" Car-- I'll get to it!-- but here's a long-posted page of the MTL States Series.

    http://www.irwinsjournal.com/umtrr/ms-states.htm

And for those of you going back to 2004 when this thread started who didn't like the Special Edition Series... well, you've had a lot more to dislike since then. Rule #1, folks.
