Alright at first I didn't get it. But after checking the 3D printed link in your signature, you made the files, Thank You! Almost sure I have some other items of yours. I don't have the 3D printer a friend does and he prints them and sends them to me.

Warehouse updated, and here is your truck, me thinks?

Shortened the HVAC to make room for the chopper and the orange cones. Yeah I know the orange cones will blow away, when the chopper lands. Super Glue :) Actually they aren't glued down.

You don't happen to have a Wind Sock do you :) Just kidding!

Thanks and yes one version of the White truck I did. I did that pretty early on and might be able to do better now. I picked it since it didn't have any compound curves. I'd like to do some designs of some vehicles that do have compound curves and have watched some YouTubes on how to do it with Fusion 360 but haven't tried yet (it is a complex process).

It is always good to see that someone is actually printing and using the stuff I put up. Happy Holidays,

@Sumner, we appreciate your 3D skills. You have a lot of file variety and they print fantastic. I've used all the items you made for me. Thank you.

    Merry Christmas.

Ask and you will receive. Elevator or Stairwell area, take your pick. First attempt at painting it did not go well :) I think it is a utility box or something, have no clue? One of the 3D printed items I received from my friend.

Going down, third floor lingerie, in a one floor building too :) Let's just say the weather got to the building for now. Already a hole in the roof too. Once again from a distance...

Well after having this 3D printed Mansion with Detached garage, as I call it for almost a year. It's time to try and glue some pieces together. Every time I get near it, it falls into pieces and I am done with that. It's heavy plastic too so not sure if my glue is going to work, Only way to find out is to try. I hope this goes well :) My friend 3D printed it and even sent an extra roof part that was missing, but some of the items still don't fit, but enough should that it will be a kind of still under construction type thing? And I'll use my New unopened Woodland Scenics painters for it too, me thinks? Curious to see what it looks like when I am done?

Well time to find some different glue for that project. Set it aside for now! Hopefully U25B decoders will be here soon!

The main power on my layout is the Bachmann 44 and 70 tonners. Now the 70 tonner being very close to the wheelbase of the 44 tonner should be able to navigate my 6 inch radius turnouts but does not and derails. For a number of years now I have messed with the 70 tonners trying to figure out why and last evening it finally dawned on me that the problem lay with the truck swiveling in the frame halves, or the lack of. I removed the shell off one of the 70 tonners and examined it and determined that I could lengthen the slots that the truck swivel in. Best part of this is that I did not have to tear the mechanism down to do it, just removed the trucks by a slight loosening of the screws holding the frame halves together and remove the trucks. Now I have a large selection of diamond coated router bits and a chose one that just fitted the slot in the frame. I lengthened the slots just a tad and reassembled the mechanism and then put it on the track for testing. The 70 tonner sailed through the Kato short radius turnout without a hitch and did so repeatedly.

The one on the right is modified while the left one is unchanged.

This simple modification may apply to other locos.

You could always add a little slope to the parking lot . . . slight, from the street to the dock . . . D-

Thought of that too. Was a lot easier to cut the warehouse down ;). Besides...the first time one of them Swift drivers comes in and forgets to set the brakes on a slope...the truck would roll across the road and jump unto the tracks and then we would have a real mess on our hands ! ;):censored:

    Sometimes a big mess creates big fun . . . that would make a great staged scene . . . D-

Yeah, I know what you mean! All the paperwork and you have to get the driver to pee in a cup. Where the heck do you find N-scale cups! o_O

That looks like the back of the Waukesha Engines (Dresser Industries) plant were there used to be rail tracks. The right height for loading there huge engines on flat beds. The regular trucks came in both ends. The well dressed came in three stories up on the street.

Well while waiting on materials to arrive for the next project I was looking for something to do. Had an old lifeboat laying in the parts box from a long defunct 1/48 scale ship so decided to make another vessel for the harbor. I dismantled the lifeboat and started several days ago.

Came up with a 2 masted sailing vessel in inter island cargo service. The last cargo sailing ship in the islands.

Created three cargo hatches and cut the large sail into two sails.

Created a third sail from stryene tubing and then set about rigging it. From the parts box came wood pallets and some loads that were stacked on the pallets for deck cargo and went to my people box looking for a crew.

    Now to design an anchor.

Thank you. Often we tend to over look other scales for their N scale possibilities. This is the smallest sail powered boat I have built and a real bear to try and rig with old fingers.

Well you pulled it off :).

I almost didn't go with N when I reentered the hobby due to my age. Glad I did as I think working with it has actually helped keep my eyes and hands in better shape than they were before coming back,

Well I am setting up for my next project. I had two very large donkey engines that have been sitting in a box for decades. Too big to use as a load but tore down to their components make several loads for a couple of flat cars. So I have some scale wood just stained and an assortment of flats. Should keep me busy while waiting for an order to come in from the UK.

The back small flatcar is one I made from styrene with some Z scale rails in the decking.

So I mentioned I ordered 4 decoders in the latest purchase thread, and of course that means I need to do some work to get them installed. Well my workbench took care of 4 locomotives tonight and we got decoders in them all.

And here is my Union Pacific, Southern Pacific Heritage unit getting new thoughts in its head. I sure do like my command center, it works great!

After looking at these pics, I realized I may want to put some capton tape on the frames where the engine tabs go down… back to the workbench!
