For those of us without a printer, nor access to one, what are the dimensions of the float sections?

Length of the main sections is 127mm (around 5 inches)
Width is 70mm (around 2.75 inches)
Height to the deck top is 10mm (around 3/8 of an inch)

Nice! I think this will fit the print bed of my Photon, especially in pieces like this. What's the prototype?

This is giving me some thoughts. Guess I would need to also see an apron as well, to be able to measure.... Gotta wonder how printing such pieces might cost.

I'd love to see if this looks good in resin, it was designed with PLA in mind though. No specific prototype was used just lots of ideas from online photos and models.

For PLA it's .05 cents a yard, the bigger pieces take 12 to 14 yards to print so about 60 cents a print or less. I'm working with a small shop to make my prints and mail them, but I likely won't have details for a few weeks.

Actually, this looks like something I could use for my Z-scale Milwaukee Road carfloat out of Seattle that I've been looking for. Just make it 3 rails, and the pilot house.

Already have the tug "Milwaukee" to haul it!;)

I can't get the link to work. Get the 404 error.

Are you trying to see the object or download the print files. If trying to download the files you will get a 404 error if you try 'Download All Files'. I get to the object but I'm also have an account, not sure if that matters.

My bad. The download all files link on Thingiverse is not working. The files can be Downloaded individually. It's a Thingiverse problem I have seen it before.

As in the shop willing to print these? Sadly, the owner of said shop is really ill right now. I'll have to see if he is willing to take orders still. If not, I'll post these on my Shapeways shop.

There was mention of an apron for the barge.

Yes, I did try my hand at making one, but the test prints had design flaws that ended in bad prints with the design I was using and those I did see photos of it said certain aspects were not correct. I had to step away from it for now. I will eventually make one, but I need to study the prototypes more to really make a good one.

I know of a guy on SW that is working on an apron (modeled after one in the SF Bay area), but like all good things, it's taking awhile.
