Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you had a great week. Let's get started. Saturday: I plan to sleep in and recover from my trip from California. I also will have a few folks over to hopefully buy the pile of RC airplanes that are taking over a section of my garage. Sunday: Nothing planned but I would like to do some more tweaking of my Genesis GP15 and my Proto Throttle now that one of the HO layouts is up from last weekends efforts. We'll see. So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 15th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and above all... High Greens!
Happy Friday to Y'all, My weekend starts to - ends Monday. Back to work on Tuesday. No MRRing for me this weekend. In a couple of hours we will be heading out to go camping. Looks to be a beautiful weekend - temps right around 80 degrees Y'all have a fantastic weekend, Wolf
Not sure what is going to happen this weekend. My wife has been sick since Tuesday evening. Fever, chills, headache, aches and pains, and occasionally breathing issues. Fever has been bouncing around from 99.5 to 104. Been on the phone with doctors and made an urgent care visit. All covid tests have been negative. Everyone is frustrated trying to figure out what is happening. Depending on the situation I will do some small things around the house. As far as trains go, I will try to run some and perhaps work on the layout some in an effort to relieve some the stress.
Tom, sure hope your wife gets to feeling better soon! Been a long week here already and the weekend looks pretty full. Replacing the ceiling fan in the master bedroom and moving the existing fan to another bedroom. Hopefully I can knock off a couple of hours early today and get that done this evening. My son's birthday is tomorrow. The wife ordered him a ping pong table that is scheduled for delivery today. I guess Saturday morning will be helping him assemble it. Then hopefully a little train room time working on more scenery items before we go out and have a birthday dinner. Sunday, I have two pickets on my fence to replace and some other assorted yard items to do in addition to the normal Sunday activities. Should be a busy time. Hope you all have a great weekend!
I'll be helping at the MCMRM Rail Fest this weekend. If any of you are in the area of New Orleans, Jackson, Mobile, or Pensacola, please come visit.
Yesterday Morning: Drove the 'Golden Spike' on the Skinkasen Line. Yesterday Evening: Drove the 'Golden Spike' on the 'Short Line' That makes 3 out of 3 Friday, (today): Will go with the 'Minister of Development' for paint and to gorcery store to get K-Cup 10/12 unit size as I need a little more support for the Shinkasen. Saturday: Will start or continue painting depending on the case. Sunday: Will continue painting. Monday: hope to post pics. Uh Oh. I just made plans. This could be bad.
Weekend plans are up in the air, but I hope to make further progress on a small shelf to hold my DCC throttle and a bookshelf to consume scrap 1/2" plywood left from my layout build. The bookshelf has been an exercise in reverse logic, not first determining the size I want, but instead measuring the scrap pieces to determine what size I can build. This project is a bit of a priority because the scraps are in the way and I fear they'll fall against my car.
Saturday the kids karate Dojo is doing a group hike in the AM< then we are helping one of our daughter's friends celebrate her 13th birthday. Sunday I'm hoping to go by the MS Coast Railfest, and see @Hytec and some Baton Rouge Peeps who are coming over. in between there's the usual house and yard work, so not sure how much if any modeling time there will be.
Friday, bowling tonight but also working on a new financial statement for the local bowling association as we find the current one somewhat unworkable. Saturday, going to the club and running trains along with good conversation. Back to home to continue on the project of switching side of the basement with my wife. Have put up new shelving and moved some of my stuff over to the new location, that bad part will be moving the workbench over and needless to say it will put a crimp on any new models being produced. Sunday, more of the same with moving stuff and also getting ready for guests to arrive for Thanksgiving as my son is visiting for 9 days starting next weekend. Tom, sure hope your wife gets better! Good morning all, Been making slow and steady progress on the track laying in the Carlin yard. Will be continuing with that this weekend with a goal to finish the east end. Will also be dropping feeder wires in the area that is already done and building more turnouts for the west end the yard. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend whatever you end up doing.
Finished the module kit I'd started last week. Finally painted the box car! Ha ha ha.... Waiting on some couplers and detail parts. Meanwhile tinkering on a couple of other car kits. Need to order another module kit, so might get that done. And then...?
Yes, I hope Mrs. Tom is well soon. Posts above show a lot being done. Other things too. Me, I pulled the first covered hopper back off the module and added discharge chute door release levers and stirrup steps. Earlier today I completed all stanchions on the last three cars. Brake wheels are on too. Needs brake wheel platforms. Then it is on to discharge chutes and steps and then, hopefully, mount bodies on running gear.
Happy Friday all! Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to scenery. This will be the big effort each weekend before Christmas.
So Atlas Track Nails for my N Scale layout are on the way, so hopefully I can work on the track and roadbed some more this weekend and maybe, just maybe get some DCC wiring done too. We will have to see. Also maybe, just maybe my Woodland Scenics Canoe's will show up after a few weeks of being lost in transit? Not that I will use them right away, just like having merchandise I pay for in my hands! The entire world of shipping, etc... is all screwed up now, worst then usual. And my train items are way less important then other items for sure.
Continuing to work my 190x models this weekend. Still need some decal work, a few details and weathering Trying to finish up this batch and get on to some structure projects.
Does this mean they were blank kits and you painted and added all the decals etc...? Sorry I am just curious?
@in2tech, the 36 ft cars are mostly 36ft Accurail kits with truss rods added, grab irons removed, and replaced to mimic the cars of that era. I added a few details like cut levers. There is one Athearn/Roundhouse model that is pretty much stock, repainted and decaled. The 40ft FRISCO billboard car is an Accurail USRA car with ends replaced by wood ends from another Accurail kit, and the lower sill removed (along with grab iron replacement). A reasonable stand-in for the ACF car. FRISCO and Frisco System decals are from Precision Design Co. (custom runs). The CRI&T car is a decal set from K4 Decals. Let me know if other info needed -Bob T.
My plans are simple… Finish the cart I started in august I have a pile of 20 HO locos needing programming, and a bunch of N scale ones too. Finish the track work on the staging yard lead Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The biggest thing planned for this weekend is I’m going to my first NMRA Division meeting in 5 years. It is 2 hours away, but I have somebody to carpool with now and my son is coming with us, too. Operating session at a friends layout following the meeting. Aside from that, I want to finish lettering the two boxcars I started last weekend and lay more track for the drill track and passing siding to the south of the classification yard. Cynthia and I will be moving into our new apartment this weekend, which means I will have some time to do some modeling in the near future. Joe
