I am in the process of painting, or getting ready to paint, some KATO SD-40's. I have cut and opened the cab door on the front of fireman, conductor, side of cab so that the interior shows. Also opened a side engine access door. So my question is what color are the interiors. Are they a light green or tan ????? I remember being in some F-7's mannnnnyyyyyy years ago with my dad and those were a light green inside. Be well, Carl
Those are some way cool photos of cab interiors. The SD70ACe cab looks like its straight out of NASA, but at least there are cup holders! Nothing more infuriating than a vehicle without cup holders...
Still use one all the time in my Suburban but I reinforced all the tops of mine with aluminum strap. Like them better than the built in ones, Sumner
I think I have one stashed somewhere. Or it disappeared into the Twilight Zone. Or interphasic space (probably in the hands of my evil alternate universe twin). Never really used it because there wasn't any convenient spot to hang it. All the weird curves they're putting on dashboards and doors and such... anyhoo, other than a dashboard straight out of NASA, my new steed has two good ones in the center console and they're fine with me. So in that respect it's just as equipped as an 'ACe.
I thought EMD had moved to light gray by the time of the SD40s... But as stated earlier, really need to know the specific RR, loco model and period modelled
