The first time I ever saw a live steam engine was the 8444 at Boise, ID for the '89 Centennial celebration. Even though the extra 4 was just a temporary thing, it is how I remember her....... ...... but she still a beauty in any number!

Cool set of SW1s! Those things are the real "little engines that could" - they could, they did, and kept right on going. Puts the battery bunny to shame.
Love that paint scheme on those SW1's! Another weird "out of place" for passenger cars was regularly seeing Pennsylvania RR passenger cars in Livingston, MT for East Coast passengers going to Yellowstone NP
