Good morning, good afternoon, where ever you may be. Welcome back to the Gateway to the weekend. By the looks of Monday's thread, everyone was busy and it was great to see all those pictures of the large FreeMo and some of the great modeling you all did. Let's keep it going!

Saturday: It is going to be another scorcher of a day here in Illinois so I'm going to stay inside and work on the Athearn display. Last week I got two of the three structures ready for paint. I have been working on the layout in the morning as time allows and found enough parts in the Walthers warehouse kit to build another building. I've combined this building with the Pikestuff loading docks and will paint everything this weekend. Time is running out on this project as I need to set it up in two weeks, so I plan to also get basic road work and static grass done as well.

Sunday: Is supposed to be off and on rain but cooler, if you consider 84 cooler. I don't, I'm from central New Hampshire. I'll continue work on the Athearn display. In between, I need to mow the yard and inspect, repair and clean a 1960's coffee percolator I picked up a few weeks ago. Yes, it is to replace my cheaply made, bargain box store plastic one. Any time left will be getting the Mustang ready for a car show next weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this last weekend of August? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 30th to see how well we did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

    Woo-Hoo! I'm first.
Taking a few days away from This Old Dump and the layout and already arrived at the cabin.

There must be a bear nearby. The dogs woke us up at 5:30 very unsettled and barking. I took advantage of the early morning to update my layout build thread. Early am is the only time I get good enough signal to upload images.

Tonight weather permitting we will catch some dirt track races at Dunn Hill Speedway. You can't get much more grass roots racing than this.

My sister is coming up also. Weather forecast doesn't look good so while my wife and sister catch up on things, I plan to install new shower head and work on Intermountain car kits.

    Happy Friday Y'all,

Well - I'm following my recent theme - Keeping it simple.
I'll start the decaling process on my latest F7 set. Hope to have that done by Sunday evening.
Start planning the next F7 projects: SP's final phase of F7's: Class DF-8, DF-9 and DF-11. These will have all the bells and whistles. Lots of modifications to the models.

    Y'all have a fantastic weekend,
    Wolf

I’ve been working on a Proto 2000 ACF Type 21 tank car kit throughout the week. My goal is to finish that and get it on the layout Saturday morning.

I also want to finish removal of ballast from the deck of the viaduct and get cork glued down on top of it.

I also ordered a switch for the north end of the steel mill siding, should have that in time to install Saturday or Sunday and perhaps get track laid out across the viaduct. At that point, we’ll be about 25 feet from connecting the main line to the previously installed main along the classification yard.

Good morning from sunny and hot Northeast Ohio.

Won’t get much modeling done tonight, bowling has started last week I managed to hit my last year’s average which is no bad for the first week.

Saturday in the morning I will be going to one of the local bowling alley’s to certify the new lanes that were put in this summer. After that I will be working on finishing up a GP40-2 I have been working on. Also I have started building an Eastern Car Works N&W hopper car kit.

Sunday will be packing for our trip to Colorado for my son’s 40th birthday. May get some decaling done if we have the time.

Will continue on my N Scale benchwork build. The heat and humidity become unbearable in the afternoon, so I pack it in then. Exhaustion and power tools can be a bad combination.

I have a lot of family obligations and yard work to do, but I hope to finish decals, dullcoat and re-installation of headlights, cab glass and couplers on the N-scale Housatonic RR RS3m # 9935, GP9M # 7324 and the recently painted GP9 # 1802. After that if there is some time, I hope to just runs some trains with the 3 newly completed locomotives.

Train show in Duluth GA this Saturday. Planning on attending Saturday morning but not looking forward to the hour plus drive each way across the north side of the Atlanta metro area. Hopefully will find something that makes it worth the trip. Then have to Uber my son around a bit Saturday afternoon. Hopefully Sunday will see a little train room time in between honey do's.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nothing planned this weekend. Sunday I have to take a car load of stuff to my daughter at the university.

However I need to straighten up and prep a module. I have received a request from the Historical Wendover Airbase Museum to place my Wendover module on display there.

I plan to start building some turnouts for the next layout expansion. Looks like I will need about 11 or 12.

Family activities look likely to dominate this weekend. Mother-in-law is visiting for a grand-nephew's wedding on Saturday. Her sisters are coming for lunch today. My son's upcoming move may have to be pulled forward to this weekend. Standing by for that one.

With that as a backdrop, I do have some ongoing projects available if there is time.

Disc drivers for UP 2295 are beginning to look like reality. Newly cut overlays are in the mail headed in my direction. Meanwhile I am working on a fixture to hold the spoked driver while milling town the spokes and counterweight. Any progress on that will be a good weekend.

Waiting in the wings are the sand domes and tender truck bolsters. Good to have future goals. Keeps the enthusiasm up.

    Pictures on Monday!

    Stay safe,

No specific plans, so far... I might first make a dash to the local farmer's market. Then continue building another resin box car kit. Perhaps assemble a module base kit.

If the weather permits I have some weeding to do and trimming of the weeping cherry tree. If I am stuck indoors then I think we will tackle washing the shear curtains from the living room and dining room.

I want to finish weathering the last two passenger station platforms. Then start building the Walthers Union Station kit.

Museum invite! Very nice honor. Busy bunch here. Big stuff coming between regular stuff. My bungalow needs front porch rails and upper trim. Also some yard details. I think I have said this before but the chimney is done. I think Saturday afternoon may be open. Sunday is a grandson's birthday celebration. :D I hope everyone has fun and is safe. (y)

Greetings all. PhilpH. Get better man! Take care.

This weekend the plan is to finish the grain building I started last weekend. Should be able to finish the building.

After that, I will either start the grain dryer and bin and that will sit on the top of this thing, or move on to some other scenery task. We'll find out Monday. My 7:00AM coffee tomorrow will help me make that decision.
