I remember seeing one in a collection of photos from an RPM meet, modelled by Edson Yamazaki.

I had no idea this existed. Is that a DD35ish truck? Very interesting locomtive. Long nose, med long porch, maybe SD45-2 cooling fan spacing w a SD45 flare? I like it. Looks pretty cool to me.

A little less unique now that GE has taken a turn building for that customer.

Those are all one hell of a lot of locomotive for a 39" gauge.

Now I went down a rabbit hole of looking at modern narrow gauge diesels on the internet - I had no idea there were so many!

    Good lookin' locomotive!(y)

Are those old DD35/DD40 trucks they use, maybe from scrapped Union Pacific locos?

Goodness no. Those rails are only 39" apart. Look how far the side frame rails hang over the truck frames.

Besides, when these were built I believe every one of the UP Double D's were still using their trucks every day.

Wow, cool-they were built that way!(y)

I was thinking they took old 4 axle trucks and narrowed them.

Those heavy duty, short and narrow B trucks were designed special for Brazil by GE, too (post 6).
