Anyone know what Amtrak’s Northbound Crescent schedule is now roughly 3hours later than the advertised OCT 2020 schedule? Has almost always been just after 8pm and now it is 11:20 pm for months out. Oddly Southbound holds the same schedule, at least from DC to ATL. thanks, BTC.
I don't live along the Crescent's route, but it runs on alternate days now, south on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and north on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. There is no Sunday service northbound. I live along the route of the Silver Star and it's now a Friday, Saturday and Sunday train only with service in both directions. I think these changes were a result of reduced ridership in the wake of COVID. I don't know what Amtrak's future plans are regarding restoration of full service on these trains.
I heard a rumor today (from a friend of a friend) that the plan is to restore full service, and full dining car service, by fall and possibly by late summer.
