    Where I grew up, we saw them frequently. My dog didn't like them and chased more than a few up a tree. One was probably 20-30 feet away, and had cubs. That was worrisome.

    Some of the fastest trains in the country (that BNSF symbol freight from Atlanta to Long Beach) cross it daily. The bridge is pretty standard, but I love the art deco abutments. And no graffiti!

    Bridge over the Big Fork River, Minnesota.

    Built by Big Fork & International Falls RR to Minnesota & International RR to Northern Pacific to Burlington Northern to bike path.

    p.s. The Big Fork River drains to the Atlantic Ocean, via: Rainy River, Lake of the Woods, Winnipeg River, Lake Winnipeg, Nelson River & Hudson Bay.

    Crossing the Mississippi River at Bemidji, MN (currently the northern most RR bridge on the Mississippi River).

    Possibly the most well known opening bridge in my region is this one (BNSF, built by the Great Northern RY) in Seattle (Ballard), Washington;
