I can tell you where to get one of the new viewliner II baggage cars by Kato if you want to get started.
I wandered into the LHS and found a replacement switch controller for the bad one on my layout -- so I'll be replaceing that today (this was a really old one in the old pink and yellow atlas envelope -- I looked for a date on it but couldnt find it TIM
Wow, that's what I call an N scale bender! Hello, my name is Andy, and I'm an N scale model railroader... (chorus: Hello, Andy.)
Received an Atlas helium car from "The BAY".. Been wanting these for a while, need three more. VERY hard to get because I will NOT use PayPal after an attempted $1,800 scam !!!
Paid for this morning, now just waiting for delivery, eventually. Just got the newest MT Ootten Beet/Cotton Belt 3 bay covered hopper. If I search, I’ve got a photo or two of the Prototype!! Somewhere!
I just got 2 more sets of well cars and containers. I won’t bore you with the pics since they are the same as I already posted the other day. One more Maersk and one more BNSF.
Finally made it out to the hobby shop today and found everything on my list. Also ran into an old friend there who I had not seen for awhile. Two pairs of those MT trucks got put to use right away on a pair of Walthers steel coil cars that arrived last week.
Well I finally broke down and bought myself a passenger train. It’s a pair of DCC equipped PA’s and eight con cor passenger cars. The price was reasonable and I couldn’t pass it up. Whenever it arrives I will post some photos of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SSW covered hopper arrived today. Both sides of the same car. I'd like to know HOW this car came about, and how long it ran like this, or is it still this way?? I've searched and can find nothing! All it brings up, is the MT car.
Midwest modeler has the same car for sale with a mistake on the opposite side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bought something big today... And yesterday too, but yesterday's purchase isn't train related... wait a minute... The Avalanche I bought was from a train club member and due to the unique design of the Avalanche it can be a train hauler much easier than my other truck... So yea train related! My today purchase will be here hopefully in a week or so and then I will show it off!
I splurged a whole $2.00 and bought 3' of 1/16 inch Shrink tubing to fix my LED street lights I pulled the wires out of...
Well, I had to back out of this passenger train set. The missing coupler on the locomotive was to be repaired by the LHS prior to shipping. As stated in listing, the locomotives were DCC. Not a problem. Though these locomotives are originally pre DCC ready Life Likes. The decoders used are the older versions from the early nineties that are hardwired. The owner obviously took some effort into isolating the motors to make them work. Issue with regarding this for me. Is the age of the decoders and what life they have left in them. I love DCC though, some of my older locomotives with drop in decoders from the nineties have already quit working on me. I am currently waiting for the new ones to come out from ESU to replace the ones that are in question. Anyway maybe I will look in the future for purchasing a passenger train??? I've never heard of decoders expiring due to age. Yes, I've heard stories of decoders "losing their minds" after sitting for a long time from disuse and thus "not working". But a quick reset on the programming track would solve that problem. Many have recorded and save each decoder's parameters with JMRI so that when decoder dementia sets in, it can easily be refreshed to working order again.
I good example of the said drop in decoders in one of my GP15-1’s. It’s one of the first generation digitrax drop in decoders that is no longer available. Yes, it’s will function, though every time you have to reprogram the road number into it. Plus it is difficult to consist with other locomotives. Also it gives me an reason to upgrade it to sound.
