Pacific Electric Boxcar 00113, Los Angeles, CA, mid-1950s (Herb Cearley) Pacific Electric Caboose 1970, Los Angeles, CA, mid-1950s (Herb Cearley)
All Pacific Electric non revenue cars (with the exception of 1000) started with 00....so it was regulated to MOW by then.
That PE boxcar is so cool! I've never seen PE freight equipment before. As per bremner's post above noting that the SP owned the PE, I see Espee's influence on the car with their familiar circle logo, but with Pacific Electric spelled within the circle. Just lovin' all of these images Legoman.

B&O too?! The B&O OE-1 motor looks like a prehistoric beast. These were used in the Howard Street Tunnel in Baltimore, a headline engineering achievement when completed in 1895.
B&O 4-6-4 5047, Willard, OH, August 24, 1949 (Ralph H. Payne) B&O Motorcar 6040, Late 1940s (Ralph H. Payne)
Lovin' the B&O photographs! I think the B&O owned only a very few Hudsons, with the 5047 seen above one of them. Isn't the gas-electric (?) car a knockout? It must have been a stunning sight in color.
They had a fine batch of Pacifics. But that Hudson certainly is a beauty. They should have moved more headlights down to smokebox doors years earlier. Such a fine paint scheme. Does anyone know if that's a Brill car? With the radiators moved down from the roof and that slick pilot added, it's almost streamlined.
Incidentally, 5047 was rebuilt in 1933 from one of the Pacifics. As for 6040, it is a J. G. Brill car.
Was she? The Frisco also installed Pacific boilers on bigger fireboxes, with Hudson rear trucks to support them. An interesting bit of surgery. The Santa Fe M-160 Class were also Brill cars, and also wound up quite streamlined. That was a slick design for the 1920s.
I did a double-take too and found that the B&O experimented with water tube fireboxes on their Hudsons.
Oh, is that what's going on in there? I knew about Lord Baltimore, number two, but I didn't know about any homebuilds.

I have no problem seeing them. They were there when Bill first posted them and I see them now. Perhaps your computer has decided that you are not worthy to gaze upon them.
