Good Morning. Has there been an update about Miller Engineering's December release of the Downtown Series of etched buildings? Thanks, Jim

    Jim,

I just checked the Z Scale Hobo website and the information there says that they would be available at the end of 2020.

Frank Daniels (zscalehobo) posted over on the AZL board last week:

"From Miller today: "I am hoping for early next year.""

    Yep. 2021.

If anyone is waiting for the fire station - old run versions are still available. Don't need to wait for the re-release!

It's well into "next year." Are there any updates?

In the manufacturing climate we're in right now, I don't hold anyone accountable. It's just good to know that is still being worked on. Since Spring is technically less than 3 weeks away, let assume by summer.

Agreed. He said he is working on porch posts and re-writing instructions - stuff that's on the outside of the main parts sprues. Usually in development of a kit if you're talking instructions, you're very close to done. But i was a bit bullish in previous proclamations so I will offer my tip with an asterisk *timing of release can vary from this estimate.

Miller update June 9, 2021 ... There's a long story behind the present delays ... he's still in this ... he's still very very passionate about Z scale ... he cares about the community. But, he now thinks "sometime in late Fall." My take is that the supplier delays he's facing can likely take us into 2022 ... so while the announcements are exciting, we will have to simply wait quite a bit longer. Thanks.

Yep. "2022" ... I'm not involved in development so i have no more info ... Feel free to reach out to Miller directly which I strongly suggest you to do... as more inquiries will prove the market interest.
Contact info at bottom of his main page:

Message me if you have a Z scale Micro-Structure Mid-State Bank kit (new, used, built, damaged) that you’d like to sell.

    All,

I just heard back from Chris Miller. He said that the buildings are in being photo-etched now, they are in the process of updating the instructions, and the kits should be ready hopefully by the end of March or early April of this year.

    This great news!

In preparation for the MS kits being released in the spring I’m pondering some kit bashing ideas. Question: what is the best method to cut the brass walls on a MS kit?

I would like to learn as well. I cut brass sheets from Micron Art before but found it difficult to make nice clean cuts.
