I use the Kato turntable and built an Arduino-based controller so I can move the bridge using DCC Accessory decoder commands. I don't see why you couldn't extend the bridge tracks the way you are suggesting mtntrainman but it would be quite the engineering project. I am planning to "lower" the turntable to standard Kato track height by embedding it slightly into the subroadbed. Then I will run standard Unitrack directly to the turntable rather than using the sloped adapter tracks. Here is a video of my turntable in action with DCC commands.
