Just ordered a Kato PA1/PB1 set in Union Pacific with DCC. They are awesome looking locos and will be pulling my one set of Kato UP passenger cars.
Kato CN 7 Car Transcontinental Passenger set (Noodle Logo) Conrail Loader 3 Pack with Crane pre-weathered (Still looks to shiny) RailBox Graffiti car "SLUG" - Got it free with the Conrail Set. 2 Heinz Pickle Cars - Just to stay one step ahead of my friend.
I've been waiting... and got a great deal. I purchased an early HO Rivarosi for my Dad one Christms year's ago. Never found it in his collection when he passed who knows. Anyway, it's here now and I have the Green Executive F7's to pull it!
So I ordered some lights for Jeans Valley. (60) LAMP POSTS for the 'business' side of 'Main Street'. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0899W2YP...olid=1D7ORFVB9SXM2&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it (20) STREET LIGHTS for the park side of 'Main Street' The ugly billboards do snap off the poles... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MTCDJYP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (10) DOUBLE STREET LIGHTS for the divided highways coming into town https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0827YLTKM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Yea...I know...they are 1:150 ...Close enough for the girls I go with ! They should be here mid-March. Not in that big of a hurry. I still have to stripe the roads and parking lots...when the weather warms a bit.
@mtntrainman be watching for your results, I'm a bit off from ordering any yet but I like what I saw.!
A while back I bought some 1:150th scale lamp posts for my small layout. They looked good, but when I put them next to the buildings they looked very out of place and over sized. My street lights on the other hand looked great. Here is the style I bought https://www.amazon.com/BQLZR-Black-...rds=N+scale+lamp+posts&qid=1613604762&sr=8-15 I cant get to the link you posted right now, my .gov computer thinks that the link is dangerous.
Not a purchase, but freebies, at railroad club meeting tonight! Picked up 5 assembled WS trees. The grouping that was brought in, was split between 4-5 of us! Also a free copy of the Roaring U50’s....Union Pacifico’s twin diesels.
Just arrived, BNSF, UP and CSX - Can You tell where I purchased. One of TB's Advertisers - The labels tell it all, great service, very helpful genuine couple. I shall be purchasing again. The pricing was unreal even with duty and exchange into Canada, I save about $175.00 over what it would have cost me to buy the same 3 units at my LHS. @fifer Mike, thanks and the best to you and Robin!
@Massey I decided to bite the bullet and ordered the Kato Tiger Strip F3A/B to go with them. I'm a gone catch quite the fury of words from my significant other the CFO - when my VISA bill comes in next month - LOL
I semi solved that problem. I just bought my streetlights off Amazon. I found a few 'small' items in her wish list and added those to the cart. She cant yell if she got something too.
Okane, Have you visted Mike's "N Scale Model Trains How to Channel" ? This is one of my must go to places to look at "how to" videos on everything in N scale. And of all my locomotives, Kato is at the top of my list. Enjoy, Ralph
@mtntrainman Unfortunately Mike does not sell paper crafting supplies. @Martin Station All the time I even have the bell so I know when he posts a new video. He uses the Kato track so his help is invaluable, and if your a customer he'll even answer questions.
Mike and Robin are a couple of the best out there. I hate when I have to use another etailer for anything. I always liked Robins little handwritten notes on the invoice when I got stuff from them. That little personal touch goes a long way in my book...
This discussion somehow reminded me of my childhood hobby shop, Vine's hobbies on Atlantic Ave. in Lynwood, California. It was really two little shops that were connected near the front door. On one side the husband had his model RR shop and on the other side the wife had craft supplies. Bought my first N Scale stuff there in 1968. Anyway, my latest purchase was to try out a brand of paint that I had not used before. Got these on Amazon a few days ago for my military vehicles project. I have air brushed and brush painted with this paint and so far have been pleased with it.
i recieved some new HO Scale cars in the mail last week. More Athearn box cars for my planned switching layout, and I learne that AThearn is releasing an HO Scale GP15 in CNFR orange and numbered for 1570, which comes thriough the small town that I live in.
