Always wanted some of those impressive cars, so here we go. This time it's a hybrid model: all etched metal parts apart from the Dreadnought ends, which are 3D printed to better show the prototypical shapes. This car series is not for sale yet, I need to do some re-design, most notable the coupler attachment, body-mount is only suitable from R300+ and long shank trucks are not available or there is no willingness to make them available to the public. So stay tuned...

Absolutely one of my favorites! A long shank coupler would be the solution. Got to be a way to modify one. Such a great piece!

Are you sure that's not an N scale model, because it looks fantastic! Wow! Great work!

Love it! On a side note, Ford requested 4-door cars while GM and Chrysler requested 8-door cars like the above.

Awesome, like all your products... :D

BTW, would you be willing to post here a schematic of this car's coupler system ? I'm considering modifying my AZL autoracks, roughly the same lenght and same proportions, fitting MTL couplers on these.. :)

Like your thinking, but unfortunetly my design will not help you at all. It's an multi-folded etch piece which is glued on the to top of a truck, therefore it would add to your ride height. The bigger issue is this coupler assembly is supported by a nodge which is sliding in a half-circle opening in the car floor to prevent sagging. See picture

AZL tried to make an articulating coupler for the Autoracks (one reason for their weight - leverage), like an N manufacturer made, put could not get reliable swing (too much friction). Therefore their long coupler.

Gerd, those look Soooo good. A nice morning wake up for me (SP) and the Mrs (Chessie)

I tried my luck with one! not as great as Gerd! His being etch metal has way more weight and mine are to light but I use a set of passenger car trucks fit well just need to change the color so the don't stand out as much. this one 3D printed not the best! but I tried! did this one last year just setting on the tracks in the yard!
