Still in 2 minds about the unfinished area I"m leaning alightly towards an engine yard as I do have the bachmann service centre all ready to go.

Wouldnt mind some advice on fitting in an engine service area in that area :D

    Great pictures Paul.
I know there is a desire to fill every little space we have on our layouts but some open spaces are needed too to keep the realism going.
That's a very nice grain elevator you have there.

Oh I love those Mopacs they are the pride of the fleet :D well maybe one day Mitch I will send some more stuff over but I know at the moment you are so busy with work.

I will post a few more pics a little later on :D [/QB][/QUOTE]

    Paul,

You're a man after my own heart. Looks like you and I model the same era when UP started acquiring MP, SP, Rio Grande, etc. Nice to see somebody else doing what I'm doing. Makes me think I'm not too much of a Maverick...

    Keep up the good work

    Thanks Tim,

I origally just modelled the UP but got a little tired of seeing only yellow and grey running around the layout so I decided to step back a little and model some of the fallen flags.

I now have UP, SP, Mopac, Rio Grande on the roster as well as some MRL and BNSF just to add some variation to the layout I dont have any CN&W at this stage as i'm not a real fan of the paint scheme but thats the beauty of modelling you can run whatever youlike :D

You mean you don't like that beautiful green and yellow? It was those very colors that rekindled my passion for model railroading after being away from it for a few years. It wasn't long after that though they went belly up. Or is it UP. I never did care for the UP, but now I have to give in and have at least one yellow and gray.

I'm the same way. I'm not one to settle on just one road. I like too many of them. I have a couple of the new Atlas WP GP40s on order to add a little more flavor.

I even went a step further and recently purchased some KCS GP30s to run on the layout to pay homage to my hometown. I like them so much they may have a permanent home on the layout. I'm considering that KCS will "purchase" my independent shortline which serves the cities of my W&PRR!

    It's all about havin' fun!
