Paint the bottom rails of the frame and gloss coat the bare brass for a 1st class pine or oak wood look !!!!
Here another photo. This is a tow truck based on my earlier Dodge Power Wagon. The photo-etched hoist is going to need some tweaks.
Nice. That is what I'm used to seeing. The 3-D and etched go together well and looks much more prototypical. I'm in. Jim
The finished Studebaker 2 1/2 ton truck. Photo-etched parts include the stakes on the the cargo bed, the tailgate, mud flaps and the steering wheel. I should have a completed Dodge tow truck to show in two or three days.
And here is a finished tow truck. Because this was my first attempt at photo-etched parts I made some mistakes. The worst one was on the boom for the tow truck. Bending the sides down was far too difficult and I mangled several booms before I got the hang of it. And since this was a test run only, I only had 5 sets to play with. The army truck PE was better but there were still some minor problems and in the process of assembling them I thought of a lot of ways to improve them for ease of assembly.
