During the first week of January, I decided to create a wish list on Amazon. Now while not everything we need for modelling is on Amazon, there are often items that strike my fancy such as tools, connectors, led's etc etc etc. So up goes the list which I named "The Just Because | No Special Reason | Anytime You Feel a Need | to be Nice To Dad List" I then sent an email out to my kids to see what would happen. Two of my kid's young ladies now with there own kids called their Mom and asked and I paraphrase "What's Up With Dad" The Girls never understood my passion for all things that move especially trains which is okay. The third we heard from yesterday afternoon when this unsolicited package arrived from Amazon containing 4 items from the aforementioned list. Needless to say, I was so happy, his gift made my day, I was over the moon and back and I called him and thanked him to no end. We have not seen our son in over 12 months, with the Pandemic and all and his gesture makes me realize how close family can be and makes all the trials and tribulations bringing kids up seem so worth it. Keep them close and safe. Solder iron Cleaner Dental Set Soldering Paste Solder Sucker Upper 2200 Piece Terminal Set with Hex Crimper Sincerely one happy Dad and modeller.
Lol no, I’m not that desperate for trains... I think ... um... let’s talk about that later, ok? These came from a club member who was storing club stuff in a personal storage unit, and he wanted it cleaned up. This stuff I am thinking was donated to the club by a no longer with us member, as we are an N scale club not HO.
Here is an actual purchase! this is my first wood kit, and I plan on putting it next to the “new” station on my t-trak modules.
Not exactly a purchase, but a loaner! Dr at kidney center today, gave me a book on LIMA, the history. Lima locomotive works. First edition copy! No DJ. Was fascinated by Lima, he said. Was promising to bring said book, for me to check out, for about a year?? I’ll read it, and if I can manage, I’m gonna see if I can do one of 2 things: 1. Scan entire book, to computer. 2. Find copy online. Found a 1st Ed. at bookstore in Denver. Will see where I sit on payday Wednesday, and maybe order my own copy! Looks very interesting, just scanning through it real quick!
I enjoyed putting together my wood station kit! This looks really great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A few items showed up yesterday. This planet brings to mind the comparison between the Enterprise and TP but that's another story for another time
Just purchased an Atlas Master series GP9 undecorated w/DCC, for a shell-swap with my DC Atlas Classic GP7 in ATSF Zebra Stripe livery. Very minor trimming of the GP7 fuel tank was required to fit over an extra bump on the cab end of the master series (DCC ready, more or less*) frame's bulge for the fuel tank. The frame was already rebated for the shorter GP7 fuel tank with air tanks on the long-hood end. So I now have an Atlas GP7 in ATSF Zebra Stripe, with NCE DCC decoder.
Received a couple oddz'-n'-endz over the past couple of days. Two Microtrains Wine Series tank cars & one Rio Grande heavyweight passenger car. Bachmann New York Central Hudson... too bad it is not a Dreyfuss J3a. Walthers Cornerstone retaining walls and parking lot parts. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
