Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the Weekend. We're chugging along to the half way point of January and seam to be making good time. Let's see what is on everyone's list for the weekend.

Saturday: It is supposed to snow here all weekend and when I say snow, I mean a dusting. Ray's posts on Monday made me homesick for the great snowmobiling that is no doubt in full affect in my native state. Still I hope to take advantage of the the time by taking down all the Christmas lights outside then coming in for a nice warm hot chocolate "bomb". Yes, I guess that is a thing now. I really need to get the garage set up for heat so I can get multiple projects done. The process will not take long but we all know how home improvement projects can suddenly take over an entire weekend.

Sunday: I'll be spending most of my time cleaning and organizing the area that will be the new home office and studio. I hope to finish that so I can work on stage two which is to build the backdrop that will be used on the live feeds I conduct. After that it will be working on lighting. Any time left over will be dedicated to track planning.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 18th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay healthy, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Our office has a long weekend w/ ML King day off (Monday). What I would like to do this weekend are the following:
    • More ground cover work on the HM Myers diorama
    • Air Brushing tasks that I have been putting off for weeks.
    • Putting down some plaster cloth in an area or two.
    • Assessing several locomotives and ordering some TCS WOWsound decoder kits to match
    Have a great weekend all.

So -- this will be an up in the air kind of weekend. My wife has asked a million times (according to her - and, I won't argue that figure) to line her trunk with cedar. So, I will of course get that done.

    After that - I don't know.

I hope to get a second color on the FT's --

Hope Y'all have a great and safe weekend,
    Wolf

I have finally gotten the terrain done to the extent that I can start to put some tan paint on so that is what I plan to be doing. Also I'll be starting the river with some black paint and perhaps even getting some sanded tile grout base scenery down on the hillsides in the areas where the bridges will be. Also need to start cleaning up the layout room as I have made quite a mess with the recent work. So this will keep be busy.

If all goes well, we will make it to the appliance store and look at refrigerators. I am sure there will be other stores we need to visit this weekend. We will continue to take down Christmas decorations. This weekend will be the tree. Outside got down unexpectedly yesterday.

For modeling I have the following to weather:
    • Two Phillips 66 Red Caboose tank cars
    • Two PRR Bowser livestock cars
    • Four Bachmann poultry shipping cars
    • LNE Proto 2000 caboose
    • Reading Bachmann caboose
    • Walthers B&O wooden caboose
    • Athearn B&O 150th anniversary bay window caboose
    • B&O Bachmann bay window caboose

I would like to finish removing the mountain from the layout so I can begin laying in new track once I decide on a track plan.

I've been neglecting the layout for well over a month probably more than two.. I've had my workbench tied up with non model projects.
I've been hard at work on "This Historic Dump", cleaning out the cellar making room for a small shop for Dump Preservation projects.

FRIDAY if the weather holds out I want to treat with mold/mildewcide the 5/4" beadboard and 3'x8' workbench top salvaged from the cellar.
After dinner clean up my modeling bench and tiny second floor trainroom. Identify and locate material needed to finish dc track wiring.

    Saturday.
Cut two replacement 4"x6" legs for workbench. Trace out old window ac circuit and reroute wire to use for relocating cellar freezer .
Go through more old paint and mix with absorbent. Sweep up reaming failed plaster in cellar. Straighten up and make all walls accessible for up coming masons consultation.
After dinner work on layout wiring and temporary control panel layout.

    Sunday
Weather and help depending, start cutting up bakers dozen trees dropped over the summer.
After dinner wire up Atlas selectors on temp control panel.

Some of the detail parts I ordered a few weeks ago have arrived at my supplier's shop. Now I just need to make that connection, so I can start moving ahead on those projects again. But it may be early next week before that happens. Perhaps I will stay awake long enough to start a laser caboose kit?

Need to mask and add a second color to a 50' Boxcar, also paint a 40' Boxcar. Start decaling a 52'6" Gon and then one of the two boxcars listed to be painted. Also am working on building and Exactrail 4780CF Covered Hopper Kit.

Should be receiving 4 Moloco RBL's via UPS today.

Yep. Progress slow for me as well. All glazing is in/on the caboose parts at this time. I discovered a dimensional error on the main decks and made new parts for that. I thought I had a length issue with the coupler, truck unit but I think I have a solution in mind. All be healthy and have fun. (y)

This weekend I will be cleaning up the mess I made in the family room. I have NMRA coming over at the end of the month to do evaluations so I need some tidiness. Also I am going back into the train room. Need to straighten that up as well. One of the guys coming over has mobility issues so I need to make sure he can enter. I have to cut some track so the swing level extension will actually swing down and out of the way. Finally found a spot for a scale house I built in 2019. Looks a lot better than the atlas building I had there previously. Also received the replacement light effect for the one that died after 5 minutes last week. Need to install that now.

HI Everyone, Hope you are all doing well and safe this weekend.

Im planning to do the following this weekend: (all of this is contingent on mandatory naps, and some football games)

Friday -- I have some new turnouts that I want to get installed, as well as a bunch of power drops that need to be dropped -- getting power running for the passing siding alongside RJ Johnson yard in Alamosa. Also planning to work on JMRI Operations -- If theres any JMRI OPS users / Gurus out there, please let me know I'm positive that I'll have questions

Saturday -- planning to go to breakfast with a group of guys from my parents church, then home to continue wiring etc. My hope is that by saturday evening, i'll have sufficient wiring etc done that I can actually run a couple revenue trains between Monte Vista, Alamosa and the outside world -- theres a shipment of wheat that needs to move ASAP -- I'll probably work on JMRI OPS while I'm watching football

Sunday -- After Church sunday morning, I am hoping to continue wiring and laying track as well as working on OPS -- the Cleveland Browns are playing at 3:30pm so I'll be watching that but Probably will also work on JMRI Ops -- I got some major figuring to do with that

Monday-- MLK Day -- Im still waiting to hear from my surgeon, so we can get my bypass scheduled, but being a holiday, I doubt I'll hear from him on monday, so my plans for monday are pretty much the same as the rest of the weekend -- trackwork, wiring and learning JMRI Ops

Have a GREAT weekend -- cant wait to see what you all come up with on monday

    TIM

Tonight will kick off with Chicken Chipotle and Tecate from the neighborhood Mexican restaurant. No fixed schedule after that except Sunday morning's soccer match. So my objective is to turn last weekend's storage cabinets, pictured below, into a useable workstation. There will need to be a trip to the second hand building supply store for a peg board remnant.

I will let you know how it goes when Jim calls us to reassemble.

    Stay safe,

I am unhappy to say - no train work this weekend. I do get to go to club for monthly run day on Saturday.

The rest of weekend I plan to complete and get ready to file my 2020 tax return and pull 2020 files and make room for 2021. Oh, I may have to enjoy the time with this in hand:

After getting rid of 2020, I can spend a lot of time on train work, have to get back to my SP GS-1 project.

    Be well,
    Carl

My main objectives for the next couple weeks is to get the pile of rubble discarded, finish insulating the ceiling in the layout/garage space, and sort through the clutter remaining. So today the old gate was cut up and now takes up half of my trash bin capacity. I will attack the insulation tomorrow morning. If I can get it hung by noon I should have an idea as to how it may effect the space in the heat. My front porch thermometer read 102 today, but I am sure that reads about 8 degrees high. Tomorrow should be similar for comparison. So no "modeling" plans just yet.

I was close to getting an old fridge out of the space but the wifey does not want the new overflow fridge in the space I was looking to put it. I have a desk there that I mostly use and she would like it to stay. So new fridge in a couple weeks in the same annoying spot it has been for 20 years. At least its opposite the layout space and I can use it for "drinks" in frosty mugs for visitors.

Anyway, I hope you all have a pleasant weekend and I hope to see some progress photos for inspiration.

Just hoping to get some model time. Most of the weekend will be continuing to try and finish all the honey do's from last weekend.
