I went shopping at my local grocery store for last minute New Years Eve food and consumable spirits.
Look what NON-consumable "spirit" showed up on a different aisle!
    C3H7OH - otherwise known a isopropyl alcohol.
I haven't seen it at my local grocery store since the spring. Could this be a good sign for 2021?

The optimist in me says yes, but the realist says every pandemic in recent years has had a bout a 2 year run, so we are still going to have to dig in a while. I really don't like that realist guy on my shoulder, but he has kept me safe over the years so I listen to him, but I prefer to believe the optimist!

It has been scarce in my area as well. Thankfully, I have been able to grab a few bottles of 91 for my hobby uses.

Same here. I've seen some 70% start to return to the stores but no 91% for a while. Still have an unopened bottle in the train room so hopefully it will last.

I haven't see 91% yet, but my 70% bottle was $1.79 for 16oz. Thats is higher than pre-covid prices.

I bought a quart bottle of medical grade 91 about five months ago and expect it to last me several years.

John, When do you use 70% or 91%, example: track cleaning? - tonkphilip

I have a 3D resin printer, and follow a few 3D printing groups. Many folks use 90% IPA to clean models before curing--when the 'Rona hit hard and stores were out of IPA, we had to get creative, and I found denatured alcohol is cheaper per gallon and works just as well.

My preference is to always use the 91% for cleaning, paint stripping, and as a solvent for India Ink and other dyes. Comes from years of working in the lab.

My local Wally's had a full shelf of two sizes, both 70 and 91%, as of yesterday morning.
