Picked up some stuff from my railroad club a couple years ago. The NSIG sub group decided to clear out needed equipment. Ended up getting a short passenger train. Only 6 cars. Has to be missing a few pieces though! No locomotive(s) to speak of. Articulated. Name on the bottom says Electrotren. Anyone familiar with this company? Heard of it? Not sure if I want to keep this equipment, or try to sell it, for an unreasonable price! Can try to get photos Tuesday sometime. Plenty of action here tomorrow!
Yes. European model trains. I believe both N and HO scales. Should be easy to find with a bit of Googling.
Was surprised to find my incomplete set was part of an Amtrak train, pulled by an EMD F40. Also surprised as to how hard it is to find information on the N Scale versions. A few in N Scale, but not Amtrak. Plenty of HO sets though! Got a bit of info, from Spookshow.
Finished pulling center console out of truck this afternoon. Actually found 2 more cars for said train! Now, I have a full 8 car train. Broken coupler at one end though. Would like to swap over the MT couplers. MT website says 1016. Was wondering if the low slung 2004 might work as well? If anyone has this set and has attempted coupler swap! Can’t find N Scale information. Would fix broken coupler, IF I could find information on the train! Instructions etc....
May want to expand your search to include Jouef who combined with Electrotren and has been marketed by Hornby.
The unidentified cars are from a circa 1990s eight-unit Spanish manufactured Electrotren stock number 7251 Talgo Pendular 200 set. https://en.todocoleccion.net/trains...ren-escala-n-ref-7251~x79957561#sobre_el_lote Produced in both Amtrak and Renfe (acronym of Red Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Españoles—National Network of Spanish Railways) Operadora liveries, the latter were pulled by a red and silver colored Renfe E2327S diesel locomotive. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/electr...-glass-without-conditioned-air-period-iv.html Electrotren is now owned by Hornby, which is releasing an N-Scale Talgo III 6-unit base pack (as stock number HN4270) and a 2-unit add-on coach car set (as stock number HN4271) in Renfe livery. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/arnold-n-1-160-renfe-talgo-iii-6-unit-base-pack-period-iv.html https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/arnold...2nd-class-intermediate-coaches-period-iv.html Neither the Amtrak passenger cars nor the Renfe E2327S diesel locomotive have been reissued in N Scale.
After finding 2 more cars today, I’ve got the 8 car Amtrak set. Information I’ve seen, says it was pulled by an Amtrak F40. So maybe a Kato unit will work. Just need to do something about couplers.
I did I think 1015's on mine years ago. Either 1023 or 1015 were what I put on alot of equipment. They ran with an F40PH as a demo train. There was talk of the train set being used between LA and Vegas, but that never happened. The newer cars are in service on the Cascades. One thing to watch for is the connections in the middle. These long feeler pieces are needed, cause they act as a spring. Make sure you don't break those.
