Just like the title says, let’s see your Xmas or Holiday themed train, any scale! Here is my “L” scale Xmas train
It’s Disney. They are just bare shells for imaginative play. I added the sound, lighting, and even floors, plus HO interior details.
Not set up this year, yet, but for about the past thirty years I've had one of these LGB sets - plus a powered tender and a few of the annual passenger cars released in subsequent years - running around the base of the tree.
So the kids this year wanted the On30 train around the tree instead of the Lego train. This was a Bradford Exchange set from Terry Redlin based on his art. It’s very similar to another yet more popular winter artist who also has a train with BE. This one was cancelled while I was acquiring the set so I only ended up with 5 of the 10 cars. My next delivery was supposed to be an observation car, which would have been a nice end to my train. But anyway here it is.
This is the only Christmas stuff that I have. One is a B-mann combine, the other is a MT FT-B unit. I picked up the B-mann car with the intent of collecting a Christmas train. Some one had two FT-B s at a show for a really cheap price. He did not have any A s. I bought them for a possible project. I ended up re-painting one of them for my non-historic. The other one is here, infra. Obviously, SC&N Number Nine is not a Christmas engine, but, girlfriend's Athearn ATSF 2-8-0 is in Massachusetts. We intended to use that for the power for the Christmas train, as the red on it is appropriate to the season.
I bought that same tree for my work desk last year and had the PCC driving around it. Very nice. no more going to the office... ever, so my daughter has claimed it for her room.
I wish, it means we are all work from home permanently now thanks to COVID. On a positive side, I’m still on the same tank of diesel I bought in late October!
I think most everyone has seen my Christmas themed NTrak module, actually the only one I have left. It is Christmas, and I set it up near the piano every year, so here goes....... Be well, Carl
This is my annual Christmas tree layout. Years ago before I had to downsize because of a job loss, this was my Christmas tree layout. I still have that Bachmann G scale Tweetsie train set, but no longer have the room for it or that 6' Christmas tree. So for the foreseeable future it's the Kato Operation North Pole N scale train set under the 4' Christmas tree. Wishing everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday Season. Happy Hanukkah Happy Kwanzaa Merry Christmas
OK, so you have seen the results of about 3 months of work. Three different sizes of fiber optics and approx. 1,100 feet of fibers in total. Only nine LED's. All fibers were inserted into hand drilled holes on the house and trailer as well as the sky board. Here are some images of the inner workings.......... 1st one shows the back side of the sky board, only 4 LED's for all those "stars". A closeup of only 1 light emitter. Underside of table top showing only 5 LED light emitters for all the buildings. Thanks for the interest. Be well, Carl
