Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a good week back from the holiday. let's see what we have on the list for this weekend. Saturday: Not much planned really, other then get things cleaned up and spruced up for the Christmas season. It is supposed to be 45 and sunny tomorrow which means I can work in the garage with the space heater and achieve a comfortable 70 degrees. I need to finish up some small RR projects as well as build an RC item for a Christmas gift. Sunday: Last weekend, I was able to finish cutting the fascia on the HO layout. I still need to glue on the two end pieces as well as the back pieces. If I can get that done this weekend, I maybe able to mud everything, sand it smooth and paint the top like I have wanted to do the last two weekends. It's a project layout for work and in reality, it won't really be shown until the first of the year. I would just like to get some of the preliminary stuff out of the way however. We'll see what I get done. So how about you? What do you have planned in the shop this weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 7th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe, be healthy and as always... High Greens!
The Christmas decorating will continue this weekend. If the rain stops, I will install a new Ring doorbell to replace the old one we had. I am debating whether to weather the twelve coal hoppers sitting on the workbench or build the seven Tropicana reefers I recently acquired. I have wanted to run a Tropicana Orange Juice Train for some time. I think it would look nice with my Penn Central GG-1.
I will be continuing work on the expansion of my home layout. Sub roadbed is now done and I have started with cork road bed. I will be installing a river base and starting some land forms. Photo below was taken yesterday, Monday I'll post a photo of the same area with whatever progress there is. Everyone enjoy your weekend.
Another not sure weekend Saturday: My Wife's nieces and nephews along with their kids will be coming over for a Ginger bread house building party Sunday: - Perhaps I can work on my layout Report on Monday Y'all have a great and safe weekend, Wolf
This weekend there will be some modeling happening, just won't be all weekend. Like many, I will be pressed into decorating duty. I'll try to get much of that done tonight. Saturday afternoon I have an NC State basketball to watch at noon and then we play Georgia Tech at 4pm. So I'll be strapped to "my chair" watching. (Hopefully not throwing things at the TV). Saturday AM I will be in the train room and/or work shop. Will do the same for most of Sunday. Although, I imagine Sunday will involve a little more Christmas decorating. How much is "negotiable". Have a great weekend all!!
Have been making progress on the tender. Sides are on the main deck. Coupler/retainers assembled and awaiting installation. Earlier today I set goals for The Omega Scale for 2021. This year I only achieved seven out of twelve listed on the 2020 goals. I think more diligence may be needed. The above projects look and sound great. All be well and get'er done!
This weekend, I will start decaling a NP Boxcar and a Covered Hopper that were built and painted in the previous week. Will also be constructing a couple of kits along with starting painting a NYC GP35 that I have added all the detail parts to. Of course this will not start until tomorrow, as I have bowling tonight (had a 278 game last week). Rick Jesionowski
After a quick bit of shopping, I plan to continue what I started last weekend. Possibly even finish one of the box car kits.... Ha ha.
Have a few Christmas season related activities lined up for Saturday so probably little or no modeling time. Sunday is open and I guess I'll see how I feel. Been a rough week and my knee is killing me so may just kick back and read some. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Saturday: Drive back to Bellingham, completing the Thanksgiving travel cycle. Need to pick up a couple holiday items along the way. Sunday: No fixed schedule except a soccer match. Somewhere I want to find time for the following: Re-install the SPROG so I can update some decoder settings Install a decoder Tinker with a drilling setup to experiment with very small bits, eg. <.015" There will also be some gift shopping, wrapping, packing, shipping, home decorating and maybe some tasty treats to indulge in. The holidays are in full swing. Stay safe,
Finish the leveling around the bridge to eliminate the derail spot and test southbound running on both mains. Maybe even test the new SP rolling stock. Drop off UP E8s and FEF-3 for conversion, pick up converted PRR E8s. Put the tree up. Sent from my SM-T837A using Tapatalk
