Well it's been awhile, I just lost steam on this. What I have accomplished so far: Attached the number plate to the front of the smoke box. Drilled a hole for a tiny post of brass rod and mounted the air compressor casting on to it. Made two boiler doors for the end of the boiler. The doors are made from screws, washers and a bit of wire. Added rivet and gutter details using Archer raised detail decals. I still need to add the fireman's platform, railings, LED headlight, front end details, paint and decals. I also need to finalize the motor mount. Scott
Is there a possibility that you will put a video up of it running? Would love to see this thing in motion!
Really nice work Scott! I'd forgotten that camelbacks often had two firedoors so as to better access the wide Wooten firebox. Anthracite culm (waste coal) burned best when spread over a wide area to generate the heat necessary to fire the boiler. It's been said that once an anthracite fireman had his fire in order, not much tending was required. Not sure if this was the actual case!
Thank you everyone for the compliments. Joe, I'll try to get a video of it running. G, go for it, I'm sure it will be excellent! Scott
