Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend and you all got a lot done this weekend. Let's get started.

Saturday: With my weekend starting early, I had a nice drive in the Mustang to my future Father in laws place about an hour away. I can sleep a bit better knowing the Mustang is safe in a well lit and heated garage for the winter. Saturday morning I slept in and had a serious case of the "blahs". After kicking around a bit I decided to do some railfanning. Nothing major, just some former Wabash and IT railroad archaeology mixed with NS action. I did catch the Roadrailer which was cool. Nothing else accomplished on this day however.

Sunday: However was a nice productive day. I was able to heat the garage up to 70 degrees and finally finish the office area of the layout room complete with custom bulletin board. The shadow box for what will be the yard of the N scale layout was also finally finished sans filler and paint. That will have to wait till spring.

I also got some work done on the HO layout but not as much as I wanted. I still need to add the fascia but I ran out of hardboard. Oh well, maybe next weekend.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this past weekend? Let us know.

Now for some programming notes. For us American's, this week is our annual celebration of Thanksgiving. Many of us will have the Friday after the holiday off so we will be having an extended Weekend Modeling Plans post on Wednesday the 25th. So be prepared for that. I think some of us will be dusting off those Christmas Trains and maybe be put to work for annual Christmas lights duty but we will cross that bridge when we get to it. So for those with a short work week, have a great one, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

I was able to finish the fascia on the modules. Sanded, painted and UP5 panels are in place. Now to run loconet cables and attach feeders from the connect points on the UP5’s to the power bus. Waiting for supplies to arrive. Now to plan the scenery.

Oh cr@p now I have to FIND my Christmas lights . . . . good reminder.

I have that very bar stool in my garage serving as my sitting device for Garage Pondering.

    Get any good Roadrailer shots?

I managed to scatter parts from a couple of car kits around my workbench. In various states of pre-assembly preparation.

Well, I had a very product weekend,

Saturday: Purchased and installed a kitchen faucet set. Man. I hate plumbing!! I learned about their goofy pipe sizing. Between pipe thread, flared and of course the infamous compression sizes -- 3 trips to Home Depot later -- done.

Sunday: Messed around with our Granddaughter's new train - Thomas and friends:
    Bachmann N-Scale.

He will be my new problem turnout finder -- LOL

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,

    Good morning all,

As planned, I did work on the concrete trestle, and started to work on some land forms as seen in this first photo. Never got around to doing anything with the back drop this weekend.

Then got sidetracked and started creating an abandonded wreck scene. Applied wreck damage and weathering to a broken car that was sitting on my work bench and glued it into place at the bottom of an embankment. The darker area is still damp scenic cement after I had added some more soil material to make it appear that it has been there for awhile.

Also had my share of household projects, pruning and raking up in the yard, etc. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend whatever you were doing.

The backdrop I was expecting the previous weekend, actually came last Monday. So this weekend, I dedicated to getting it installed along w/ permanently installing the city high-rise backdrop. The high-rise backdrop in the center is from RealisticBackgrounds<dot>com. The backdrop on the left (w/ the 2 smokestackes) is an HO background photo I had reduced by 10% to slightly reduce the scale. That one was obtained from RailroadBackdrops<dot>com.

I cut the building out from the Walthers Front Street Whse kit box. I have temporarily stuck up there, not sure if it will stay. The perspective angle is good from only about half of the vantage points of a viewer. If you're not standing in the right place, it looks weird. I don't know ... that may come down.

    In any event, before/after shots:

Love the Athearn banner! Sounds like a productive weekend.

See lots of cool stuff from each of the post so far. Awesome folks (y)(y)(y)

Not a lot done but some progress. Put a coat of paint on the tank car loading platform I am working on. Then prepped and started planting trees.

Good results all. I got some work done early Saturday before I was "forced" to return to Cherokee Rock Village since I was rained out on November 7th. :D Right now I am looking at getting the cab assembled and attached and adjusting the drawbar linkage then it is on to the tender. All have a great Thanksgiving. :)

Saturday the wife and I went to the local Hallmark store and CVS. Back at home I helped the wife go through our semiannual ritual of sorting winter and summer clothing. We determine what we are keeping and what is being donated. The out of season stuff goes in a bin and the attic and the in-season stuff gets put in the drawers. I have two large trash bags to drop off at Green Drop this week.

On Sunday I got the garage cleaned out and the outdoor furniture stored. Threw several bags of blankets, towels, sheets, and pillows in the car to take to the local animal shelter. They had been stored in the garage. I found another couple of bags of clothing for Green Drop.

With all the physical activity I did not have much energy to go down the basement and work on any models. The weekend was not a total loss. I entered about a hundred records into the new version of my database for my rolling stock over the weekend.

The LNWI came in and I was able to run using Engine Driver. I hope to figure out how to link that with JMRI next. Also found a couple of curves causing major issues, though. One doesn't have enough clearance for simultaneous running, the other causes derails coming off the Kato double track transition. Might be a little too sharp. The ACS-64 hates it. Somehow, I also lost the sound on my Bachmann J; all I did was to change to long addressing and the whistle.

Have a few days off around Thanksgiving, and won't be cooking for 15 this year. Lots of time to play downstairs. (y)

I don't remember where I found that stool but it does come in handy. Regarding the RoadRailer, I think so, they are still on the DSLR. The sky was horrid so I'm not sure of the light but the RoadRailer was a nice surprise.

Thank you, part of work. Tune in on Athearn Facebook live every Tuesday at 3:30pm CST and this Friday at 3:30pm CST and you'll see it again with me and cool stuff in front of it.

Funny you should mention that sir. I am watching yesterday's coverage of the N scale 60' Auto Box Cats and F89F Flats.
