You never know what Greg M., had in the back of his mind.

    Check this out.

Chief At Rio Bendejo Station 002.jpg

See the sign on the train station. If you don't know what that means...well...I can't explain that here.

Yes Greg M. scratch-built this station. He's good at what he does and he has a unusual sense of humor. A funny guy.

When I read where you said "Boots on the ground" I was sure you met they had derailed and were sitting in the dirt.:eek::oops:

I went back and looked. Dirty crook made me look, was playing in the back of my mind. With a sigh of relief I could see they were all sitting on the rails. At that point I understood you met something else. Yes they are!:unsure::)

Yep, I've been lazy today. Yesterday, it was college football and today professional football.

On the layout, I need to demolition some track and I'm wondering how I'm going to be able to replace all that damaged track. It will require new cork roadbed and flex track. I have some in storage so we shall see how far that gets me.

Remember when hobby shops would sell you flex track and cork roadbed at 10% above cost? It used to come fairly cheaply. Not anymore. Sigh!! Those were the better days.:rolleyes:o_O;)

Did you figure out what Bendejo means? Every Mexican that came in told me that was not a good word. It won't be there for much longer.

Here is a link that you might find helpful. Bendejo - defined.

    Don't blame me I didn't do it.

The stations is due to be re-stuccoed and the sign will be removed. Not sure what name I will use. The layout is freelance and will resemble some of my favorite spots around Southern California. The station resembles San Bernardino but you couldn't get the actual station in four feet, if you tried. It's a long building. I keep thinking San Berdu. San Tijuana? No that doesn't work. That's to far south.

    Any suggestions?

The actual word is Pendejo. FYI. Bedejo must be 3rd generation Spanglish corruption.

you should call it Santa Poco and have the Three Amigos somewhere.

Seriously: San Pio , Santa Esperanza.

Bendejo, the slang is actually Mexican. Mexican and Spanish aren't the same thing. Close but not the same.:confused: Here's a hint it has something to do with my Mother, and what that makes me. :( Enough said.

"Santa Poco and the Three Amigos," well played. :ROFLMAO::p:D

No, I think once again that's to far south.

    Appreciate the suggestions.(y)

:eek:Are we overthinking the solution? :D:ROFLMAO:

The building is actually modeled after one of the many remodeling projects that went on during the Santa Fe era. So to have guys working on the name isn't out of line at all. A suggestion I'm considering. How about that.;):)(y)

No it's not the same train. The Lark is above and the Daylight is below.
    IMG_1365.JPG
This last picture is taken at the east end of the Santa Fe A Yard. The station is just out of sight to the right coroner oop's, that should read corner. To many hours working for a mortuary. This is also the side of the helix I want to move the track out. It sits to close to the upper deck.

As to the trains in the picture.
Closest to you: The San Joaquin Daylight made up the way Dad remembered it visiting Mojave, Ca. It's headed for the Hidden Staging yard.
Behind it: The first Santa Fe Work Train. Not much to shout about...yet!

    Now today,

I'm trying to line-up the L section to the Helix section and I find it won't. Not at all. It's wiggled and waggled to much during the ride up here. It won't line up straight across. Couple of things I can do. Elevate the legs on the Helix or cut the legs down on the L Section. It will be easier to elevate the Helix section of the layout via the legs. Let's see a jack, screws removed and then re-set and we should be almost done.

The addition in question, is a spacer I added to close a gap, back during it's original construction. It didn't survive the move up here. The glued joints worked loose. It set out there in mid air without anything to support it. I can strengthen it but only after I get it lined up. Tomorrow!

Add on: Did you notice the Santa Fe / Concor coach turned into a work cafeteria car. Grin!

I didn't mean to make you paranoid about your trains Mr. @BarstowRick hahaha I was referring to you flipping that table right side up !! ahaha Well the one with the boot on it at least. I'm sure you've gotten that by now though (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Pendejo was actually one of the first words I learned in spanish. Some guys I use to play music with told me to go up to some girl and say where are you going pendejo ??? As you can guess that did not go very well and she got pretty angry. We then realized her boyfriend didn't take to kindly to it either and we ran away laughing. For a white dude in South LA that was very lucky !

Unfortunately for hobby shops I cannot buy anything from them anymore. The online market has taken over. (for me at least) Even down to small things like rail joiners or scenery. It is just to expensive. The selection of things also is not so great. I dont want them to go away but it is a wicked world we live in.

Oop's I just corrected your spelling. My BAD! dont to don't. Shame on me.:confused:

Paranoid about my own layout? I do that without anyone's help. :D:ROFLMAO::LOL:

Yes both table sections have been flipped up and are now on their own legs. The only thing left is the Mini-City. I need to install legs on it and tie it into the helix section.(y);)

    DSCF1854.JPG

In the picture to the right where you can see and angle tool (for the lack of a proper name) is where I'm having difficulties meeting up to the two table sections.

The train station will be renamed. The Ben... or Pen...issue will die. Unsure as to what name it will get. Probably something with San Bernardino in it. Thinking San Bernardo or San Berdoo or San Berdu. We shall see.

You were lucky to get away with your willy in tact.:sneaky::whistle::eek: I said what, what... did I say that?

Hobby shops, same here!! They have all but disappeared.:mad:

We still have a Hobby Shop in Boise. Two actually. One real small one, with all kinds of wood dowels and one with anything and everything but a good selection of train stuff. EXPENSIVE isn't the word for it. Bmann prices have gone through the roof. Did I do an understatement. Most of the new stuff has been priced out of my neighborhood. Or should I say budget? I used to squeeze blood from a turnip. I did some interesting stuff with a Penney. Just not anymore.:cry::censored::censored::censored:

    Later!

Wow, is that a fact?
Nothing speedy about it. It just sits there waiting for me to pick it up and I do that slowly these days. :D
Still thanks for the heads up. Remember, LOL :) I'm a mortician not an electrician.:ROFLMAO::cool:

LOL and still chuckling. Just keep sayin. I've used that darn tool to figure out angle's, some grades and the angle of the dangle. Whatever that is?

Me thinks we are getting more one liner funnies and puns in here on TB then getting work on my layout done.:eek: Oh, that's okay.:D

I'm battling a cough that's hung in with me for longer then four weeks. Talk about stubborn. It's almost as stubborn as I am. Doc., said if it was Covid he'd of had me on a Ventilator by now. :p Dodged that bullet. I think. I hope...knock on wood. And I have wood.

Now that we've established the triangle looking thing is speedy and for a carpenter...what i can use it...? I've used to pound nails in and remove screws. Wedged a piece of wood until they broke loose. Kidding just kidding. I'm wondering if I could make a casket with it? Say what? Did I say that?:rolleyes:o_O Don't kid yourself I've put a few together. More then I care to count.:(

Okay, all. :cautious: I've been looking at what I want to do with my present dangling situation. Or should I say dilemma?:censored::censored::censored: I need to rethink this. Nap time. ZZZZ :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

For me Covid was way more than just a cough. Trust me when I say you don't want it! Tho after the worst of it, the congestion and cough stayed for almost 6 weeks.
