Roger, Lew, Jim and all- I finally got around to finishing my New York Central page of train orders from Indiana! Take a look here: https://train-orders.com/TOUR/N/NYC/NYCIN/NYCIN.html
Ken, That's quite a collection, from the '40s, '50s and '60s. As far as I can tell, most of those engine numbers in the '40s were Class H 2-8-2s, but some of the higher numbered ones elude me. I'm looking at renumbers from 1936. I'll bet LEW can tell us what those 2400s and 28 and 2900s were. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
Well the 2400 was an L-1b blt. 1-18 , 2800, L-2c blt. 1929 -rt. 6-53 , 2900 blt. 1929 rt. 8-57 LEW Will send some info on the train orders . Get the book of rules out .
Thanks LEW. Boy, my memory has really gone, I knew those L models were numbered up to the 2900s.. Duh.
Will try to do the orders . #35 2109 = H-10 , 1584 =H-5 a local , 2148 = H-10 . Don't understand jnstructing 65 to take siding . 65 was inferior by direction . For safety I guess . 204 , 8076 is superior in both directions . No trains or engines can be in the mentioned track covered by the order . 61 , CX is the station at Goshen ,IN where you go from the main line to the Michigan Division . The 2109 not only picked up running orders ,but the order also contained a register check that were due or arrived , in this case arrived . 771 In this case it went from manual block to traffic control . 11 The order is correct but we don't know why , nor do we care .They may have a message telling them what is going on . 246 , It is a good and correct flagging order . 20 , The 2544 a L-1b , blt. 1-18 , rt - 12-49 , sc-1-50 . 122 , This is a little confusing . It is a 31 order but was marked out and made 19 order, but had to be signed .The engine is at Gridley west bound and will cross over to #2 track and it is manual block and all is in yard limits . The westbound has running orders Gridley - Eastwood. Taft is on the west side of Anderson and the wert bound will cross back over to # 1 track and continue To Eastwood . At this time you had to have running orders to run in automatic block territory .The 2279 was protected by the right over order . 163 , This is the type of order that should have been given in ILL . to have prevented the collision described in the NYCSHS about 2-3 years ago . 224 , You don't see to many like this . You had to know the track layout at Newcastle . and I don't . LEW
