I bin messing some time around with Trix N-gauge (very small). My understanding of digital trains is the problem and I like to learn more of the technik. The first attempt did not work, but stil trying.

    Til then...

    Welcome to trainboard, Roelf!

Regarding Minitrix: the only issue I've had with older models is that they don't like handlaid code 55 track with spikes on the inside. Otherwise I think they are good models, and run fine.
DCC: arduino + motor shield + JMRI works well. The motor shield needs to have current monitoring. The official R3 shield works; for alternatives, look inside the code of DCC++EX basestation or commandstation (with commandstation being the branch where future development will take place).
